Recently purchased a 2015 TRD sport 4x4, and have plans to turn it into an overland rig for adventures and camping. Its got 33 inch MT's on it and currently sits on a spacers. It also rubs pretty dang bad with the 33s on it.

I think out of all the upgrades i could make first to the truck, fixing the tire rub with a body mount chop and new suspension would make the most sense. Everything else just seems like a waste if I'm not sitting on the right foundation. Those of you who have built your trucks out for this what say you?

    Also here's the suspension the shop recommended: READYLIFT - 3"F / 2"R SST LIFT KIT BILSTEIN 6112 COIL-OVER - TOYOTA TACOMA TRD / SR5 / ROCK WARRIOR 2005-2022

I've been looking at all kinds of brands: king, fox, icon, etc.

I am in the same boat only difference my truck sits on 31". I have look at every imaginable leveling kit or 3"left out there. So many options not sure what the best one would be. The truck will most be road driven with some light overlanding. Nothing hardcore. I also want to upgrade to 33's.

lift won't fix rubbing. You'll still rub during articulation. you need cab mount chop or those new btf lower control arms (idk how much they actually help they are new).

I understand that a lift wont fix rubbing, that's why I also mentioned a body mount chop. You refer to it as a cab mount chop, unless that's something different.

I'm trying to keep things under 3 grand if possible. I really just want some good performance suspension to get me out and about and not ruining the truck by wheeling it on spacers. Although im not planning on doing any crazy rock crawling.

I’d reccomend some Bilsteins for you. Plenty of threads on them. Pretty solid budget option.
Fox, King, and Icon are the go to brands for a reason. They may be a tad excessive for your needs but honestly, but once cry once. Fox 2.5 coil overs + rear 2.0 w/ reservoirs on Accutune are around $2700. That comes with a tune specific to your vehicle. Pair those with a solid UCA and you got yourself a set up. Might run ya a little over $3k with UCAs but you can save those for down the road. King 2.5 coil over + 2.5 rears on Accutune run ya $3200 but will exceed your expectations. Not trying to sway you one way or the other but those 3 brands I listed, you can’t go wrong with. And honestly Bilstein 6112s have good reviews as well and are cheaper.

I checked out the Toytec website. They have a great selection of lifts from very budget friendly and full suspension swaps. The Bilsteins option is most likely the option I will go with.
