You need a better saw! You should have smaller blocks left over instead of chips!

So can you go to a store and buy coal, or have it delivered like propane or oil? I have never heard of any ever being available around here in my life. :notsure:

There’s a tractor show around here and they get a load delivered for the old train they have every year. They also use it for the local power plant but the power company bought the local natural gas company and is converting it :D

North East Pennsylvania is the historic home of high quality Anthracite coal.

Anthracite is "hard" coal and burns clean without smoke or smell, it has the highest purity and energy of all the coal grades.

There are coal dealers in town, the usual delivery is 3 tons which fits in a box 4x4x8.
Many old houses in town still have coal bins in the basement, coal is delivered by a high lift truck. The driver has several chutes he links together as needed.
Bagged coal is also available, obviously more expensive than bulk delivered.

The trucks are modern but the box and lift used is just like the photo below.

Current temp -20. Just about 15-20 miles away on the top of Mt Washington, it’s currently -45. Wind chill up there hit a new record at -106. Makes one appreciate the changing seasons a bit more.

Congratulations on the new machine @six5crèéd . Looking forward to seeing what you do with it

Best wishes and congratulations tomorrow @Slashaar . Hope it’s a beautiful day weather wise.

Unrelated, anyone know of a licensed/certified land surveyor on TW? I have some questions about what is and isn’t considered standard practice, if they exist.

    TIA :hattip:

I never looked it up, but saw a guy driving a brand new Shelby Raptor Baja (white) … it looked like the kind of truck most would call a brodozer.

Welp. I got impatient and didn’t want to wait for friend to help. Got my machine moved to the exact spot I wanted. Chip converter installed and air hooked up. Tomorrow I’ll start mixing the coolant and loadings into the tool changer.

I much rather have a plain Black Ford Raptor R. Although factory HP claims are overrated when dyno'd. It's amazing how much Shelby fans will pay for something. There was a factory five MK5 roadster at Barrett Jackson painted in Shelby colors. Someone payed 137.5K. Doesn't cost that much to build one.
