Almost sounds like a tight chamber or a weak extractor r spring although you said you’ve never had any issues with BCG.

There's a riser you have to use that just sits in between the handle and the scope. There's 1 thumb screw that goes thru the carry handle, riser and then screws into the scope. I think I need to play with the mounting a little more. The barrel is thick AF! I don't think it's that.

Did you check to ensure the barrel nut is tight?

That's a great point! I forgot about that. The iron sights weren't all over the place. It has to be a loose scope mounting.

The FTE did you check the case? I've had a fluke round the neck was a touch too long and contacted the rifling. Didn't eject and broke the extractor.

No I didn't think to. I'll have to inspect the BCG closely.

This right here! Looked at it the other night and realized the upper and barrel aren't tight!
That and I need to use loctite on the thumb screw holding the scope on.

With that many guns on range day, did you ever leave one behind? Happened once, sudden sick feeling inside. Took me 12 minutes back to the range which normally takes 30 min. The RO was waiting for me.
He said only one thing, “I bet this never happens again”. He didn’t write me up.

Nope, haven’t left a gun yet. I try to stay organized, I do a walk around of the truck to ensure that I didn’t leave any under or leaned against the truck though.

If the nut is torqued but still loose, get a set of barrel nut shims. They come in different thicknesses so you can shim the nut and get the timing correct. Should be about $10 shipped on fleabay.
That was the issue on the 7.62x39 upper I used to build a rifle for my dad. I installed a shim to get it right and now the thing hits where it should.

I always bring at least a half dozen guns to any given range day and have never left one behind.

The worst I’ve done was one time I forgot a nice swinging steel target I made. Went back the next day and it was long gone. I was pretty pissed at myself.

All my rigs are purpose built. From crawling to camping. I also enjoy a nice stock truck for what that’s worth. Toyota’s are the jam!
Pretty shitty someone would just take your shit. A thief is a thief, just cause you found it alone, doesn’t mean it’s yours to take. Aholes everywhere.

yes and no, we do all our shooting at gravel pits in state and National forests not organized ranges. Much more of a free for all out there. Could be just as easily argued they were cleaning up our trash we left behind. As far as I’m concerned that was 100% my fault.

It definitely annoys me when people shoot up abunch of garbage and leave it behind out there. I usually head home with a few trash bags full of other peoples targets.

Okay-I know this is personal preference, but given the cost of a quality IWB holster. Anyone got feedback on comfort with a weapon light versus without? I want to be sure it’s something I’ll carry. And I’m not the type to go hang out in sketchy areas in the dark, but also wouldn’t mind having the light just Incase.
Already have a red dot mounted too.
if someone does both and has feedback I’d appreciate it. I’m fat and looking to appendix carry, so there is that too. Thanks.

I quit appendix carrying a WML

I have guns with lights...and I can do it...its just uncomfortable to the point it's not worth it

I just carry a pen light in my pocket and have larger flashlights in my truck or backpack

Looking at a GSG-16 as a little fun range plinker does anybody have any experience with them?
