Watched the video, where does it go? Not clear-is there a plug or bolt that comes out to make room for the heater? No sound, so if I missed a verbal cue-oops.

That's pretty awesome, but why would you post this? It's sure to fail on you now. It'll be Found On Roadside Dead soon and you'll have to Fix Or Repair Daily to keep it running. I wouldn't be surprised if it now Fails On Rainy Days... Be careful man!

No plug or bolt. Just an open bore on the back of the block above the driver side Cat. Easy peasy to install. Hardest part is running the wire, unless you get crazy like me an add a bumper port as well.

Did you see the two person rooftop tent a little ways down the page in Sheboygan for $600?

I didn’t see it but usually I pass over those since I have the platform. But yeah it’s a good time to look for RTTs, seems to be a bunch out there.

Small lift, slightly oversized tires, well...
So this doesn't actually go into the coolant? Interesting...

I was under the mistaken impression that that a block heater went into the oil pan, heating the oil.
    Wrong yet again.

correct. You just snap it in and plug it in. It’s been on my list but I always forget about it when it’s actually nice outside and remember when it’s cold af and I’d want to use it lol

Actually no you are not wrong. Heaters come in many flavors and sizes. There are both magnetic and silicone pad heaters that can be stuck to the oil pan.
Also there are the old school freeze plug heaters. Horrible to install as you had to drain the coolant and had to have enough clearance in the engine bay to install them.
Also heaters that the mount into the lower radiator hose.

On my list is to get a battery blanket as well. Granted all this is a bit overkill for Southern Wisconsin. As I really only use the block heater at 0f or below and it's not like the truck won't start in the cold, just sounds horrible doing so.

Fun tip! if you have a metal workbench you can mount a silicone pad heater to the bottom and now your work surface is nice and warm.

This is reinforcing how fantastic it would be for my garage to be heated. It's only money, right?

Yeah, I’d love a heated garage, but that’s just not an option where I’m at.

I'd never leave the garage if it was heated.
