Jack stand under the frame, not the axle.

Loosening the leaf shackle lower bolt may give you additional droop. Though beware it's very tight from the factory. I had to use a 24" breaker bar on mine. Impact wrenches aren't effective because the long bolt flexes.

the brake line isnt a thing you hold off on. with stock brake line your one pot hole or big bump away from ripping your brake line off and loosing brakes.

Is it normal to have to get this much droop when installing shocks?? seems gnarly to have to drop it so much just to get the shock on. but ill give that a shot. thanks dude

The shock is fully extended, the suspension needs to be at full droop. otherwise you have a lot of travel that is missed.

    Not sure why thats gnarly?

i just have to ask, was dropping the axle and supporting the truck by the body not obvious?

I hear ya. Im just new to this and installing the eibach you could just push it up into place. first time buying performance shocks let alone installing them myself. Trying to learn as I go. thanks for the insight.

You could always use the jack to compress the shaft and a screw driver to align the eye and mount then pop the bolt in. I had to do something similar for my front end because I was too lazy to drop the lower control arm :anonymous:

Technically, these shouldn't be installed until you have the taller bumpstops installed. You'll bottom out on the shock body. @AccuTune Offroad

I have the same shock in the Fox 2.5 Version from them as well with Icon Rtx set up at option 3, looking forward to seeing your end results with your set up. I been Thinking that shock might be overkill.

This seems like it should of been the first step to be honest.... Replace the things that will be at their limits with the new suspension before you install the suspension.

Thats like putting 35 inch tires before even lifting the truck..

Just use a ratchet strap to compress the shock and throw it on. It’s not that hard if you don’t want to droop the suspension all the way.

I have to do this every time I have my read shocks off and I have a hell of a lot more shock to compress than you do.
