Buddy bought an old Durango the other day. Had to give it a solid welcome.

 

I wonder how many additionally are long beds. Took mine in for its first service with the dealership today, the service guy couldn’t believe we had one, especially combined with the long bed. Definitely a good feeling to know you have a color that not everybody is running around with.

I want to get the black TRD wheels and a tonneau cover next, then should be done with mods for a while. I actually like the stock grill, not in any hurry to upgrade it. Pics to follow once done!

Lol! Family life and work have been taking away any time I’ve had to work on mods, but hopefully once soccer season is up it will open things up.

 

Soccer season in February? I'm jealous.

 

That’s Florida for you, lol. Our son just finished the fall season and now this week they start “spring” season that goes on for another two months. It never stops.

 

Is the wind chill pearl DCLB that rare!?!?

Now thinking about it, when I drive around town. All I see is the ice cap white.

It’s such a badass truck, congrats! The rarity of the paint job plus the rarity of long beds compared to short, I’d be shocked if you saw any others in your area, and if you did, they’re few and far between.

I'll have to remember to take a picture. But I pass a WCP LB every day. Parked in the same spot, every morning.

 

In the year I've had my truck I've only seen two WCP locally, which is fine with me. Both short beds (like mine). Plenty of the other white. Also lots of grays and silvers, but that's true of everything these days.

 

Just got her all clean. My only regret with the truck is not getting the LED headlights with it, but I plan on installing some on my own here at some point. Don’t need 4x4 living in Florida, and I don’t plan on ever taking her off road. Inside is already scuffed to hell where all the hard plastic is from the kids and their cleats, but if I was worried about that, I wouldn’t have bought a truck, lol. She’s also able to JUST fit in the garage by a matter of inches, which is nice so the sheen stays shiny on her. I measured it all out before buying it to make sure the long bed would be able to fit, so happy she does.

 

Are these paint also a problem like the white?

 

I will crunch numbers tomorrow. Spreadsheets are on my work PC. I would guess WCP LB is 0.04% of all Tacos.

 

No. Toyota uses WCP on other cars in its line up and I had not seen any reports about problems with WCP when I was deciding if I wanted WCP.
Artic White is a single stage paint. IE white paint is sparyed on gray primer. No clear coat to protect the paint from the UV.

WCP is a 3 stage paint, not 2 stage like Barcelona red, for a example. Hence the extra $500 for it on the sticker

 

That’s good, I researched the truck but never bothered to research the white paint!! And of course that’s what I got.

 

Out of 15 WCP tacos on that particular spreadsheet (dated 2/17/21) only 2 were long beds.
2 out of 3462 tacos.
6ft WCP tacos were 0.0577%
5ft WCP were 0.3755% (13 trucks)

WCP came on 2022 Tundra and 2022 Tacoma.

Man, this color with a 6mt has got to be my favorite spec tacoma. I bet in 20 years these will be highly sought after.
