The TW Folks especially on this thread can help if just to lend an ear like Mark @Devious6 said. We are here for you and if I lived near you, I do know how to tie my shoes I would be glad to help but I will always lend an ear in PM if you need to chat or vent. Take care and make that list of questions for the Specialist.

So sorry Alan. Keep posting in the thread. I enjoy your posts in the morning with a :pccoffee:.

Good morning. Bad news yesterday. One of my favorite cousins passed away very quickly. I received a call that he was in the hospital then a half hour later that he had passed. Cancer was involved with a burst aneurism. There will be a celebration of life in two weeks, and I will be there. This is a hard passing to take, we were close.

    Morning all:

Sorry to hear about your cousin Tom, my condolences to the family.

:annoyed: ENOUGH, I got on the phone and filed a complaint against the bank that seems to be refusing to refund money for the remaining time on the safe deposit box that they forced me to close due to them closing the bank branch where I had it, also had to send them some paperwork as a follow up. I contacted the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, if I can't make any headway there, I will also file a complaint with their State Attorney General's office and their state bank regulator.
They did ask me two questions-are you a vet, and are you over 60, the answer to both was yes, hope that has some weight on them getting the issue resolved! :notsure:
At least that bank will find out that I don't go down easy, and can be a royal PITB, when trying to get money back that's due me!!!!! :)

95SLE, Sorry to hear of your loss. Keep his memory alive in your heart. Sometimes I wish I had my father with me yet, he went through hell the last year of his life battling his many illnesses but I still feel his mark he left on my heart.

That’s the way I’ve been for most of my life. I’ve made a big deal out of small potatoes just for the principal of it to the point that people just roll their eyes. It’s seldom worthwhile for monetary reasons, but I don’t just roll over for that shit.

In my opinion, there is one form of heat/cool system that makes more sense than any other. That would be a heat pump. Different names, same principle, a mini split might be familiar to some. Works like a refrigerator, or an air conditioner, but with the ability to work in reverse to heat as well as to cool. Temp outside can be sub zero, but the system can still extract heat from outside to heat your house. Another type, similar principle, uses your water system, sending water deep down in the ground in pipes to extract heat in winter, cool in summer. Whenever there is a differential in temperature, these systems prove to be more efficient and economical than any other.

I have a hybrid hot water tank.
    Dam thing works great.
This system is 2 months old.
Like I said, I need to get more fin surface in the rooms.
    Just bumps in the road..

Thank you for the compliment, and I do intend to continue posting here, as my issue is not an isolated one, not uncommon, and I believe should be available to all rather than just a few private recipients.
The loss of your cousin and the heartbreak it brings you can also be experienced as pleasure in his memory. In this way, you are lucky to have had him in your life and the good memories can bring a smile to your face to offset the sadness of his loss.

A little something every chance we get.
:hattip: Good afternoon Porch Pals & Sue! Made it to the car show - so did everyone else in Austin - PACKED! Line of traffic in all the rows made standing there for pics a little dangerous, and the stubborn low sun (that we are glad to see) made a hard angle for shots. I have some anyway, coming soon.

Here's my $0.02 of advice @wanna taco Alan . The only habit left over from work. Not for writing stuff down for other people, but for your self. Get one for all the questions you are going to have pop into your mind, and write them down so you don't forget to look up what you want. Keep a second one for answers - that one you take when you go to the specialists/doctors, so you remember to ask everything you wanted. We all have some form of CRS in this bunch - 5 minutes ago is hard for me sometimes. I will sit down to Google something, and not remember what it was. Just some cheap and handy tools (at least for me).

Sorry to hear about your cousin @95SLE Tom. I don't have many relatives left, and cousins are just FB contacts.

HA! That’s my notebook! I used to carry one constantly! I kept my whole life in order with those things. Not too long ago, I found one from when I was job hunting, all my interview appointments, complete with my pre-interview research on each company… Wow, those were the days!

I have a relative with mini-splits for heat in his tiny house. He told me earlier this week, when the temps were really low, that they don't really work when the temps are in single digits; he has a pellet stove as well so he doesn't freeze.

My friend in the HVAC biz says that "low ambient heat pumps" are a big thing these days in his neck of the woods, which is Vermont. I want to look into those; if they work in VT they'll work in PA. Then again we just got a new oil burner a couple of years ago, so nothing is going to happen anytime soon!
