He meant the seals in the steering rack! That won’t be an issue in AZ!

where are you finding a new OEM rack for $300??? They go for $1,000 on average? Reman is basically not worth the effort to install

Yeah I know, I mean I don't want to have to change steering rack seal as often as I do oil changes lmfao.

LOL the one I saw said new OEM, on Amazon, I didn't even click the link. Local dealer has them listed at 850, I work for a Lexus dealer, so I can probably get that a bit cheaper, too.

Again, not gonna be an issue in the desert. Only for the mud boggers and where there’s tons of road poison

Right after I bought my truck I had him do a CMC, he did it in a few hours while I went and saw a movie. Dropped the truck off at 7PM and he got it done that night. Super quality guy. Don't know of many other people that are willing to work that late and help someone out. Too bad my stingy ass didn't just buy a CMR at the time and save myself all the headache lol.

Maybe I'll keep the clutch pedal in the truck just in case. But it's not a bad idea lol. I miss stick shift.

Talked with the guys over at JD Fab, super nice, helped explain to me what's going on.

I told them about what I want to run in the front and they offered to make me some custom tie rod and tie rod ends for the BTF kit out of chromoly, with heim joints. Got their kit and everything ordered, and going to have it incorporated into the quote for the front install at 454. This truck should in theory be bulletproof.

    Cant thank them enough.

    Final assembly of the rear!

Rear hitch receiver started too, it stiffens up the rear of the frame a considerable amount. Still waiting on Mazzulla for the rear bumper so the rear can be complete.

Last thing happening at 454 for this trip is the double shear kit for the FUCA.

Coming together! Do you have plans to change out the rear axle for something else? Fabricated housing?

Not currently, no. Don't see a reason to unless I break it. I don't imagine 400HP is going to do anything to it either.

Bump Stop Covers that 454 custom made.

Well the rear suspension is finally complete, he finished it a few days ago but ive been out of town. He also added a mazzulla rear bumper and the 454 low pro hitch receiver, tidied up all the wiring back there, cut the bedsides to match the bumper.

While the motor was out, he installed a dirt king UCA Double shear kit. Going to try and have it towed back this week, super crazy weekend ahead of me. But it's time to get this motor burned in and running. Im tired of not having a truck.

JD Fab slide rack just got here today, got their whole steering setup. Just a waiting game now. I kinda came to the realization that if I put the motor in right now, when 454 goes to start fabricating, the slide rack may not fit. It's much wiser to put the motor in afterwords. The slide rack came with custom length tie rods for the BTF kit, still waiting on parts and shocks for that kit. Once I get it all, it'll be going over to 454 to have the front fab work done. Ugh. I don't want to wait any longer to drive this truck. I miss it.

Did you get the Howe pump from them too? Curious if you can make it work on the LS

No, Im just running the GM Pump that came on the LS. Should be more than enough. I still need to figure out an accessory belt for the LS6.

Ordered the Rogue off-road disk brake conversion for the rear of the truck, as well as a new power steering rack for the front end in preparation for the jd fab slide rack.

    83FA1D1C-245C-4923-84E2-05727CE9F7AB.jpg

Also installed the oem rubber carpet. Got rid of the raptor liner floor. It cracked and sucked. Don’t recommend.

also ordered some planted seat brackets and some Corbeau RRB’s for the front. Gonna leave the back bench seat, but put a leather cover over it. The inteiror doesn’t look horrible on the truck anymore now.

I have tomorrow off so I’m going to pull the front end apart and do the ECGS bushing, as well as the ADD delete with an FJ tube.
