    Hello Everyone,

I hit a small pothole the other night and the left front strut mount broke. I'm a teacher so I do not have a lot of experience with this sort of thing.

Has this happened to anyone else before?

Does anyone have a part number for a replacement mount?

I have no desire to get rid of the truck, too much sentimental value. I know welding will be involved and in today's market, that could get pricey. Any advice or thoughts would be appreciated.

If that failed you have many more things needing attention.

Just where does the truck live??

This could get very expensive paying to have work done.

You can no longer buy that part it is obsolete there might be NOS Left side is #51502-35080 RIGHT SIDE #51501-35080

That bucket of i remember correctly is not an orderable part, it comes with the frame. There may be some third party availability it the old one will need be cut and the new one welded in. If fab work is not in your skill set you’ll need a professional.

The truck looks mighty rusty underneath. You may want to have it inspected for overall safety.

    Salt country victim?

You could be fortunate that's what broke first.

The frame needs a careful exam, inside and out by someone who knows what they are looking for.

Post the town/state you live in and maybe there will be a forum member close by who can give you a hand.

I'm guessing a whole frame replacement may be in order.

I Just looked those parts were sold my dealer has them market as obsolete.

Op your call but Have the parts cut off a part out from the Southwest!

This feels like it is going to get real expensive.

Thank you for the insight. Truck has lived in CT and now in NJ. I know what that means.

Take it to a fab shop and they'll be able to get your truck back on the road. As was said before, however, it's likely that there's other rust issues if that area failed so easily. Post pictures of frame

OP, you are in a pretty tough situation. I had this happen to my passenger side coil bucket. It was a major event to fix it. The motor had to be removed to get the old buckets off and the new ones welded on. The coil buckets wrap around the frame. When I did mine, a little over 3 years ago, these replacement parts were still available.

Best wishes to you on sorting this out and getting your truck back on the road.

Can't be certain but it looks like the driver's side one is still available. 51502-35080

This is going to be a labor of Love just when do you decide to cut and run ?

What sort of Strict rules does NJ have for repairs like this?

Since you need to pay for all the labor just to replace that mount and any damage that failure caused.

Engine in and out assorted broken parts from just that .

The removal and replacement of the mount . Low end for all this might be $2500.00 depending on the labor rate.

Without even looking at the rest of the frame.

A hard call to make at any time . Best of Luck!
