In an accident or even just hard braking will bend that cross bar it's aluminum and the only structural member across the bed on (at least 2nd gens) those newer trucks

    I love the 1st one.
I'm thinking of putting the 3.4 from my white parts truck in my regular cab.
I also need to swap in the trd locker axle on the 97 after I get it regeared.

Huh, the first is the one I thought you'd be least interested in, given the condition.

If I had your resources (space, skills, parts collection), I'd buy the red one and plop an engine in. Maybe a turbo 2RZ just for fun, since my current truck is already a clean/solid driver. 5VZ would also be fun, especially since you already have the parts.

I guess I have a thing for green regular cabs. Plus I could easily splice in the rust free frame.

    He's aware it's a composite bed.

He's aware the rail isn't structural.

He wanted it to hold his wheel; he's not a desert runner or anything.

Swiped this bad boy up; normally found at auction for 3.2 - 3.7mil but the seller didn't raise the minimum bid.

I waited until the last minute and swiped it for cheap.

Relatively smooth and easy so far.

I am fine with this with 2 considerations. First, verify with me beforehand that I have it on the insurance. The plan is to do that once Ben gets custody. Second, be gentle with the clutch. I've witnessed how you tend to twist driveshafts. No dropping the clutch at 4K please. :luvya:
