If those sequentials turn on instantly when they get a signal, then they’ll kind of be synchronized. If they have any delay to them then they won’t, they’ll be delayed from the rears.

Good to know. They do seem to come on as quickly as the stock lights, but I guess the only way to know would be to try it. The sequential pattern is nice, but I really like that they're quite a bit brighter than the stock mirror indicators.

    Thanks for that!

Nope, installed all at once. It's a known issue that hyper flashing will occur when using the turn signal while in reverse if you don't have them installed. They don't cost that much, but you can always add them later or not.

I've got these too. Haven't bothered to check that, but they're pretty close to the oem led headlights. Not perfect, but close enough.

Got it. Just curious if anything's changed. Same issue with the Tundra I had as well as a couple of other cars and trucks. The VLED resistor is a no-brainer. Much better than having to splice basic resistors inline. Thanks!

Thanks for this thread. Is consesus that the $330 kit is not worth the additional cost over the $180 kit? It seems people think the upgrade is too bright? Or am I misunderstanding?

The $330 kit would be brighter on the brake lights than the $180 kit. The blinker would be dimmer than the $180 kit.

Honestly, the $180 kit is very good for what it is. I don't know of anyone unhappy with it.

If I were going for the $330 kit, I'd actually go for the $430 kit and then use the switchback blinkers from the $180 kit (which are not a listed part). But I don't care to spend the extra money, so I'm good with the $180 kit.

Thans for the input. I nearly got rear-end twice last week. Probably distracted drivers, but I want to upgrade to something brighter for sure.

I’ve never nearly rear ended Tacomas but I have definitely noticed the visibility and clarity of signaling and braking on them is terrible. If brakes are on, I don’t hardly notice their turn signals at all.

Just installed the V6 triton switchbacks for the rear signals. Can confirm rear signals now synced up with front signals. Thanks for the info.

Did you get the Meso adapters and drill the tail lights or something?

The bulbs I got did not require drilling. I needed to reach out to VLEDS for the link to the bulbs. Not sure why they are not listed on the site. If you want the link, send me a DM.

    These dudes?

    https://www.vleds.com/2016-up-toyota-tacoma-meso-total-tail-v6-triton-921.html

I just don’t see how you got anything V6 in there unless it was this smaller 921…everything else is full size like the brake bulb and will not fit the hole

    just curious

Those are the ones. Might be the smaller 921. The packaging does say V6 so i'm just going off the description.

Gotcha. Yeah I used those before I ever switched to the Vtail (before Vtail was out) and I liked that they matched the mirror blinker. The Meso delay always bothered me.

I recently installed the VLED Vtails tail light kit on my Taco. Man, they are great. Much brighter than the stock lamps, and the amber turn signals are a lot more visible. They wake the dead drivers out there. Highly recommended!

If you shift into reverse while your turn signal is on the signal light will begin to flash rapidly. Also known as "hyper flashing." The VLR15 resistor plugs into the tail light harness and prevents "hyper flashing."

This is correct. I forgot to order the resistors when I ordered my kit. Installed it on Thurday and have hyperflash when in reverse with signal on.

It's all good though... as of today March 20th 2023, they have a site wide 15% OFF sale. So I will order up a set along with some other stuff I want.

Also, they are a great kit. Well constructed. Easy to install. Took 10 minutes. They are nice and bright. This is the way the truck should have come from factory.
