Long Bed in a TRD Sport?

Looking for my next Tacoma and came across a 2022 TRD Sport DCLB. Looks nice and has the mileage/price I'm looking for but I can't figure out how a TRD Sport came with the long bed. It isn't available to build that way through the Toyota website for 2022 or 2023, only in the SR5 and TRD Off Road. Could it have been a special order?

Yes, I know I'll probably pay more now than I would a year from now but I need a truck and don't have the luxury of waiting until the market cools.

I don’t know about 2023, but it has generally been available that way. I have one from 2021.

There are no special orders. Different dealer regions select various configurations from mother Toyota, and that’s what’s out there.

Not really. I reserved one and was able to customize a few options, but the truck was going to come to the dealer with or without my reservation.

 

Not sure where you’re at but there are new 22 & 23’s on both coasts that are advertised under MSRP for TRD Sport long beds. Vermont and Oregon specifically. $39,000 for non leather Sports with LED lights and a few other options ticked.

 

Thought so. Just looked at the CARFAX and it's an SR5 DCLB with the TRD Sport package added.

 

Man, not a chance that happens anywhere in the southeast. Any Tacoma, regardless of trim or options, only lasts a few days on the lots in NC.

Apparently if you order a 6sp MTM, you can get the short box in this model..

 

Got this 2016 LB Sport back in 2015, wanted a off-road, but nothing else around at the time and I loved it!! No complaints with a sport

In Canada if you want a double cab sport the transmission dictates the bed length. The manual is only in a short bed and the auto is only in long. The manual also only comes as a premium model with leather etc.

 

i have the premium, which in Canada gives you heated leather seats. It was around -40 here a day ago and they are a necessity. Now if Toyota would give us a heated steering wheel I’d be happy!

 

That's how they've come for a long time. My 2012 is a TRD Sport DCLB. I just checked and, in Canada anyway, a DCLB is still the only configuration where you can get a TRD Sport with an automatic trans for 2023. TRD Sport is available in a DCSB but in manual trans only and not very common.

 

The DCLB Sport was available in 2016. Here is a link I saved when shopping for my 2016. It listed all configurations available in 2016. Scroll all the way to the bottom of the link. Don’t have a heart attack when to see the 2016 MSRPs.
