Do we have any HVAC experts on here? One of the wall thermostat/control units for our houses HVAC system went dead this weekend. Meaning the display is completely dead, nothing displays. I thought it was a dead battery, I took it off the wall, and there is no battery inside the unit. It is all hard wired. So, I am not sure if this means our entire HVAC system is toast, or just the thermostat is fried. I went to Lowe's and bought a replacement unit, but it is a different size and connector, so it won't work, and it didn't come with a mounting bracket or connector, so I can't even just re-wire it.

I'm going to call a local HVAC contractor later once it is normal hours, but just wanted to see what I might be able to learn here.

I'm....as dumb as a person can get, my money is on the thermostat. Did you check yer breaker?

Not yet, we were out of town this weekend at a Bee Keepers event, and got home last night to find this. I will check all the breakers this morning. I'm not sure if the other HVAC unit is on samr circuit or has its own, but the other unit is working normally. This thermostat/HVAC unit is the only thing nor working.
