That's mean don't talk about Ben like that. But I can say the same cuz my clutch is still good

 

I haven't driven this one yet, but this clutch may be a bit soft. For one, it's not original. You'll know for sure prior to me though.

 

I just bought one of the highest rated clutches I've seen for 5vz that still isn't ceramic. I'm hoping I like it cuz I think the stock clutch is a little soft in general

 

I can't get over the difference in my truck vs the 4runner, which is supposedly the Marlin clutch (I got receipts from the PO and the only Marlin receipt is for the shifter bushing so IDK for sure)

My truck has the stock one and feels like pushing against a cinder block compared to the runner, which is so light you barely feel any pressure at all. Going back and forth between the two is a learning process in itself

 

What did you get?

I can't recall if you've driven the Corolla or not, but it's clutch has always had weird engagement. If I can get used to it, I should be ok with this one too.

I was driving a manual v6 mustang for a while, cable clutch and car gear ratios

Hopping into my truck with its hydro clutch and truck gears was an experience

 

I never drove the Corolla, but I've drive some manuals with super low engagement and almost no grab point feel.

I got the Exedy 16805, they call it a racing clutch (guess it sorta is since it is SFI rated). It is still a full face organic so feel should be pretty good, but it will likely have a good bit heavier pedal feel. Comes with all the good Japanese bearings and the actual clutch is made in Japan too.

Proceed with caution. Possible out of state. Looks like rust may be forming around the tailgate. Mud stained carpet. Hell you know the water I drive mine through and stays dry as a bone inside.

Check CarFax for a south Texas or Louisiana (flood zone) registration. Need proof of timing belt and OEM CV axles. Unless you have a garage to get into some heavy duty DIY maintenance, that can become a very expensive project. Too many missing pictures.

Items that may need to to be replaced at that mileage

1) Steering rack
2) Timing belt and water pump
3) Heater Ts
4) Electric Power Brake Booster (possibly)
5) Upper and lower ball joints
6) Front bushings (the pin the ass ones on the frame mount)

Doesn't hurt to go look and drive. If there is any play or wandering in the steering, its going to be an expensive ride.

I could afford to rebuild mine after purchase because I didn't pay jack shit for it.

 

There are way nicer GX470s from CA than that LX470 for that price.

 

Yea GX470s seem like the best value of any Toyota 4x4 right now. They’re still seen as just used cars by most people, so they’re less likely to have I know what I got prices like a Tacoma or LC.

Corolla misfired and sputtered then died at a stoplight. Restarted fine and drove the rest of the way to work with minor misfires... gonna guess one of the pickups or the coil in the dizzy have noped out of the chat since it goes away at higher RPM.

 

I gotta remind myself tonight, flying tomorrow and even with the handle being entirely carbon fiber I bet they'd pick up the blade still
