I had no idea that was a thing. I purchased them from SimpleTire, I wonder if they would honor that. Shipping would be a bitch. I’ll look into it though, thanks!

I’m going back to my 265/75/16 General Grabber ATXs.

Update: I contacted Simple Tire and they said they will not honor Yokohama's 30 day return policy, so the tires are still for sale.

That really sucks! That’s why I don’t purchase from drop ship places anymore. I prefer America’s/Discount tire as they price match. I know how you feel, I almost returned them before my 30 days were up because of the gas mileage. I had the Wildpeaks in SL in stock size and at 42lbs they got great MPGs, but the reason I switched to the Yokos was for sidewall durability on trails.

It’s all good! I knew simple tire had a no refund policy when I bought the tires, I planned on just selling them here if I didn’t like them. If I don’t have a buyer in the next few days I’ll call Yokohama customer service and see if I can return them a different way. I really appreciate the info.

Yeah I was surprised about the mileage and braking. My Grabbers are also E rated and only a few pounds lighter than the Yoko’s so I didn’t think there would be that much of a difference. The g003’s are still fantastic though, and I would have kept them on the truck if I wasn’t driving cross country a couple times this year.

Can you return the tires to Walmart?

I thought simpletire had some kind of policy where that was an option. Maybe not?

Apparently not, that would be great though.

I talked to a Simple Tire customer service rep yesterday and they said they would not take the tires back.

I even sent them a screenshot of the Yokohama warranty saying that you can return the tires to the authorized dealer where you made the purchase and they still said no lol. I’m not complaining though because I knew their return policy before I made the purchase.

Honestly I’d rather help out a TW member by giving them a discounted set of new tires anyway.

Had these tires for about a year. Cant seem to get them balanced right.les Schwab said they’re out of round. They shake my whole truck. Not a lot but noticeable. Went into a discount tire today and they said that these tires are good but not so good with tacomas. Really upset about that because I do not want to make the switch. What would be best? Get a new set of yokos or make the switch to A/T? Really debating to get a new set as I love these tires. 0785FBBC-0CCD-4588-8EA0-3BB35961E598.jpg 90B0D507-9C7E-4DDB-9505-BD66697B8A54.jpg

Do you know if they road-force balanced them? My set had a vibration initially that went away after I had another place road-force balance them.

I had KO2s first and they had vibration after a year, same with Wildpeaks after a year. Americas tire balanced them 3 times in one month prior to me buying the Yokos. I have had these for 4k miles and no vibration yet. Road forced balance

Never heard of tires that are vehicle specific, it's an off-road tire designed for trucks/SUVs. Discount tire just gave you a BS excuse.

Besides that, I see that you're running method wheels, which if recall correctly, are not hub centric and are lug centric. You could buy a set of hub centric adapters and see if that'll solve the problem. If it doesn't, well you don't lose much since you should be centering and supporting the wheel with the hub and not just the wheel studs.

It is possible that the tires are out of round, but I'd also check your wheels to ensure they're not bent or deformed.

If you're lifted, also check your drivetrain to ensure the vibrations aren't caused by misalignment, easiest way is to borrow some wheels and tires and see if the vibrations go away. Did you have any vibrations on your previous set of tires?

I’ll have to give it a look. I put lift on before those wheels and no shake with stock wheels. I’ve had my truck aligned and was shaking with an alignment as well. I’ll look into the hub thing hopefully that fixes it. I had a tire rotation and before that my rear tires I could feel like there was a bump in them when I’d go on slow speeds. After rotation the shake got better but it feels like a slight bump in a certain area in my rears. So not sure what that could be the tires themselves right? Wheels were very good

I finally bit the bullet and replaced my 285 duratracs with 295 g003's. Have 1 good day of slushy icey wheeling on them and about 1000km of highway so here's some initial thoughts.
Surprisingly quiet overall, about the same as my duratracs at 14/32. I'm sure they will ramp up a touch with time. And smooth without seeing the tire first you wouldn't know your rolling on a tire that aggressive.
Winter performance was overall impressive. It was quite warm out around +6 but still alot of ice on the trail. See how they behave in -20 conditions.
Fuel economy has been nearly on par with my old 285 set up. Having said that I changed wheels at the same time and dropped almost the same as I added.
So at this point I'm 10/10 with this tire, I have been on duratracs for 6+ years before hand so it took alot to stear away from my tried and true choice.

It looks like DT raised the price of 285/75/17s from $302.24 to $344.13 just in time for President's Day. So, a $41.89 increase per tire. Screenshot (39).jpg

I feel like more places increase the price of items before their sales, so we end up paying the same non-sale price or more, even after the sale. I'll wait and see if they go back down again. The Yokohama Geolandars don't look like they are included in the sale anyway.
