Been my dads for two and a half decades and last year became mine.
Kept all original until two years ago when my dad started putting ADV gear on it and then got it crashed.
Almost done fixing it up and almost got it reverted back to it's original state except for a small few details like changing all the lights to LEDs, aftermarket mirrors, and keeping the crash bars.
(Repainting it cause it's the left side where it fell and the paint is a mess over there. No point in touching up 26 year old paint on 26 year old plastic panels. Going for a new red paint with a smudge of custom decals that still pay homage to the original decals.)
Had it running last fall but this spring will be it's proper return to the streets.

Thanks Buddy! A labour of love, especially while kick-starting with a problematic carb. The closer bike is my neighbours, he bought in October, the hiding bike is mine for 2.5 years. Lovin’ the ‘80s thumper.

That Tiger looks awesome, keeping it in the family is pretty badass.

Another huge accomplishment last night, relieving my 4Runner of a Chevy burden.

It’s funny, through the early 2000s when I had my first 22re powered 4Runner, I researched and bookmarked dozens of websites to plan out a V8 swap…. Finally bought into one, and I almost immediately wanted out. The lack of O/D and 4.10 gears gives such poor road manners. With much taller gearing, and O/D (or a manual trans) I’d consider keeping it, but that’s not the beast I wanna drive.

That’s exactly why I sought out a 3RZ, reliable, economical and 30% boost in power over the 22R-E I’m familiar with. And an aftermarket option for turbo should I feel underwhelmed by N/A.

Trying hard not to fall down the rabbit hole of tacking on extra projects while I’m at it…. But I will be swapping in 4.88s, rust converting and spray bombing the floors and frame, and perhaps installing the transfer case e-brake I bought more than a decade ago.

That 2JZ is ballin’, but way more financial dedication than Im willing for my intended uses… 1: back road touring. 2: beach days. 3: weekend camping trips. Also, trying to maintain my 87 octane requirement. Turbos mean premium fuel, and I don’t want to pay more to play.

Uh oh @Windigo , seems like you may be in a standoff. You’ve got the money and the tent, they’ve got the accessories to make it functional. They could refuse to ship the missing bits because they issued the refund already. Hmmmm.

how much would it cost to buy just a mattress, ladder and mounting hardware? I think even if they don’t send Box 2, you still win having the tent for free

I tried to find the SOS company on Amazon it looks like they're no longer there and that tent is not available. Last week I spoke to Amazon and told him the situation and they asked me if I wanted to just pay for the tent and keep it I said yes I haven't heard back from them and they haven't taken any money from my account. Now that I see the parts are missing from the tent I don't want to pay full price for it if I do keep it. What a mess this really is

It might be an idea to just keep the tent and ghost Amazon at this point and buy the remaining items.... there's an rtt ladder on marketplace right now for a good price:

Just dont let people take advantage of your good nature. you did offer to pay it once you received it in error after being refunded, however if they do not take the money now or within a few days. then that's the cut-off period. you can't be waiting for a company that may or may not exist to take money that, sure at one point you offered to them, but you may need it for something else. if they do show up in 2 weeks, do not answer to them and force them to go through Amazoom, if they do try to charge you then demand a bill of sale of their fuckup.

Amazoom is based to the idea of "Customer is always right" and will help you out more than they will help out a seller. I ordered a 21700 battery charger that was litterally burnt/ fried when i opened the bag. i opened a ticket and was refunded. no further action and not a message from the seller.

if they ghosted you and haven't taken your money, i would just turn the phone over and leave it as is. It's not worth chasing after people anymore, leave it as a mistake they have done at their loss.

I can't imagine the company showing up to your house to repo your tent anyways.

dont sweat the hardware, you can probably fabricate some other stuff to compensate for that loss. and for the mattress, well it's not a huge loss because now you can get yourself a brand new one that may be more comfortable.
