For those with 35s....or anyone who knows

I've got 35x12.5x17R's mounted up on 17x9's with -12 offset, 4.53 backspace. Fronts only rub under full left steering lock. Back-right corner of driver tire rubs body, front-left corner of passenger tire rubs swaybar. No rubbing at full right lock. I'm stumped

My alignment is good. Just had it done by dealer. 4.1 caster, .6 camber both tires. Cam bolts are identical.

Wondering if I need to increase lift and/or add wheel spacers and/or change caster. Any help appreciated.

Attached below are the pics of rubbing locations (driver, then passenger).

You're pretty much at the bare minimum backspace for 35s, hence the slight kissing of components. Why it only happens while turning one way and not another, I'm not certain. The easiest and cheapest fix is to just not crank the wheel all the way to the left and it's honestly what I would do. Another option is to add some small wheel spacers, like 1/4" or so. Just enough to keep it off of the frame.

That's what @JoeCOVA recommended as well. Only thing is that they don't really make the bolt-on spacers that small, and the slip-on ones sure are sketchy. Maybe time for some new wheelz....

Not really, not if you do it like the link above with longer studs and hubcentric style slip on spacers. I've been running them on my rear axle for awhile now to gain a little more clearance at the shock.

Oh cool! Didn't know that was an option. With the added space, what's your effective backspacing/offset now?

The backspacing on my wheels is 3.5" and I added a 1/2" spacer, so an effective 3" backspacing. You may be fine with a 1/4" spacer but it would suck to go through that effort and still not have it work, so 3/8 or 1/2 would probably be a safer bet. Impossible to say for certain though.

BORA has 1/2” hub centric slip on spacers now too. I think smallest they go is .375”.

True. Might just go with a 1" bolt-on kit from Amazon, test fitment, and downsize once I know what's up. I see long travel on the horizon...

Im going to be picking up some of those 1/2" spacers soon. Got extended studs from www.wheeladapter.com, and in combination with new hubs in the Spring, ill be adding them to keep my tire off of my bypasses. I also have 3.5BS wheels and 285s
