I just had the TSB for the leaf springs on my 2010 Taco CrewCab TRD done. The truck rides and feels so much better. Now, not that this is a huge deal, but my truck now slopes forward (more than I would like).

I have read up on these Bilstien 5100's and wondered if that was all I needed to have put on in order to level out my front end. I have never lifted/leveled out a truck before and would most likely have a local shop put these on, but how easy is it?

Is this all I need? Using stock wheels and speakers as well.

I have done alot of research on this website, I have ordered some billies for my front end after having the TSB done, and if you set them at 1.75, should level your truck out.

How hard are these to swap out? Are they better than the stock Bilstien shocks?

Type "Bilstein 5100" in the search field and you'll get a good solid 3 months of reading material.

1.75 on the 5100's and the 4 leaf TSB pack will get you close to level, possibly a tad nose high once the leaf pack settles, or you load the truck bed.

If you have the tsb and front billies you need set them at 1.75" to have the back just a tiny bit higher. If you dont have the tsb and get billies then set the front to .85" to level it.

Having had the TSB and four leaf pack done to mine a year ago, my suggestion would be to go with a .85 setting if you intend to haul any kind of a load. The TSB will settle and the 1.75 setting will put you nose high with a slight to moderate load. At least it did for me.

Mine is a 2010 DC as well. I also have the TSB done in the rear. I put Bilstein 5100s on all four corners. I left the front ones set at zero, but also used some Toytec springs in the front. I got about 1.6" of lift in the front. I also used the 1/4" top plate spacer on the drivers side, so I got a bit more lift on that side. I love the look and ride now!

I installed eibachs in front after I got the tsb done. The truck still has some rake to it. They didn't completely level it out. But I love the ride now.

After doing the TSB, the rear end lifted about 1.5 inches.

Ordered the 5100s to level the truck.

got the 5100s about a week later.

just prior to installing the 5100s, i remeasured the back end.

the truck settled to only 1 inch above the stock height.

I was planning on setting the 5100s to 1.75

but when the back end settled to only a inch,

i went with the .85 setting instead.

the truck sits with a slight forward rake, just like stock

but i think the 1.75 would make it nose high.

After looking online, there are a ton of different models and prices.

What exact model do I need for my 2010 Tacoma CrewCab Shortbed TRD? Where is the best place (price) to get these? Do I only need 2? Again, I just had the TSB done on the rear leaf springs.

    its up to you

I only put the 5100s on the front, got new shocks with the TSB in the rear.

but i think i paid 200 just for the fronts, so sounds like a good price

If I got them all the way around, do I need to set them all at 1.75?

I bought the 5100's from downsouth and they will be here tomorrow. What a great place to buy from!

With this said, I have only ever installed rear shocks before. Is there a detailed walk through of how to swap out the shocks? What all tools do I need (I don't have an impact gun)?
