Looking for tips on selling to a private buyer..

I'm curious to know what everyone's experience has been when selling their 3rd gen? What are some things to look out for when selling to a buyer that needs to finance the payment? Best way to make transaction?

Also for test drives, do you check with insurance first to see if the buyer can be covered, and do you need a copy of their drivers license?

Insurance follows the vehicle as far as I understand.

At the very least get a written, signed, dated time, stamped bill of sale. I would also get a photocopy or picture of the drivers license.

Only aesthetic mods so far Leer 180 cap & Clazzio covers on order.
Sold my '06 TRD OR in the Fall of 2020 to the first person who inquired from my listing on Craigslist. Cash transaction.
Had similar results a few years earlier selling my wife's Avalon. Cash sale to some Chinese grad students.
My only regret was not waiting a year or so with the Taco - I could have sold it for an insane amount more.
Bank check or cash in full before the vehicle leaves my yard.
See above. On some sales via CL I would meet the prospective buyer in the parking lot at our local State Police troop. The police have no problem with that (I called to inquire). The lot is well covered by surveillance cameras.
Been lucky here I guess. Insurance-wise, your policy should cover your vehicle driven by an 'authorized' driver. Never bothered to check the buyer's driver's license - never really gave it much thought. I figure it's their problem should something occur.
