I did the anytime fog lights on my 2014 years ago and it has worked great until the other day and they stopped working. Pulled the cover on relay box and found the jumper wire that was installed burnt. Has anyone else had this issue or know what could have caused it? Used good connectors and proper gauge wire.

A loose connection will cause the wire to act like a heater element due to increased resistance and burn. Get a new wire and make sure the connections are Tight.

And maybe put a fuse in line. So you don't burn anything and just blow a fuse

I thought the lights were already on a fuse, but I don't see any harm in putting another in the circuit.

If you did it properly the jumper wire shouldn't carry hardly any current, all it does is turn on the relay.

I still put a 3 amp fuse in mine.

Mine is wired a little differently, my relay was removed from its socket and wired with jumper wires. it is the wire from center terminal of relay back to socket that burnt. I did not do the bend trigger terminal on the relay like you have. It lasted 8 years which is surprising. Will redo it as you have yours.

Yea I bought an aftermarket relay and bent it, saved my OE relay in case I ever needed to put it back to stock.

That is why I did mine with jumpers, did not want to bend factory relay when truck was still under warranty.
