I had never seen those wheels on a Bonneville before, but someone commented with this picture of a previous generation Bonneville...

I started reminiscing about how my dad and my uncle took me and my cousin to what I believe was the 1992 Philadelphia International Auto Show, and how I sat in a Bonneville exactly like this one...

My father and his wife had one of those when I was a kid.
I still remember riding in it. It was actually comfortable and had a lot of room.
But almost everything had more room than my mom’s 240sx.

    I sure miss those days.

Production on this generation of Bonneville was 1986 to 1991, I believe. It's possible that this was the 1991 Philly Show, but I have pictures of the then-new Dodge Viper from that same show, and I also don't think my longterm memory was a fully developed in early 1991. If it was in fact the 1992 show, then I would have been only 2 (almost 3). My longterm memory was just beginning to kick in at that time; I can remember getting toilet trained, and when my dad bought his 1992 Dodge Dakota, so it makes sense that I would remember attending a car show. What doesn't make a whole hell of a lot of sense to me is why they would have a 1991 Pontiac Bonneville at the 1992 show...

Pontiac always did “different” stuff, as did Buick.
Like throwing a supercharger on a “family” 4-door.

Mine was the medical doctor. And even at 49 I was subjected to the butt poking. Not an experience I wish to have, though beats prostate cancer.

One thing I've always been good at, have to be with all the years I was a big soda drinker.

Pics or it didn't happen haha

I put off getting a phsysical for almost three years because my phsyician's office made patients wear masks at all times, even in the exam room; I also almost blew my stack at the eye doctor in either 2021 or 2022 because it wasn't enough for me to be wearing a high-qaulity N95 mask. The bastard insisted on taping the mask to my face at my nose, "because air could escape". My dentist hasn't required masks in over a year, and obviously you can't have a mask on for a dental exam, so I didn't have to wear one in the exam room.

My therapist works for a large practice that still has a "MASKS REQUIRED REGARDLESS OF VACCINATION STATUS" sign taped to the door. He merely works for the practice and doesn't have any degree of ownership, so he has absolutely no control. However, for the last few appointments, I haven't been wearing a mask and nobody says a thing. I am fully vaccinated, I can't deal with wearing masks (at least the cloth ones and flimsier N95/KN95 ones) for more than a few minutes at time, and I am just fed up with this shit. Everybody sympathizes with me when I explain that I have Aspergers Syndrome and tell them I can't wear a mask for a long period of time due to sensory issues that come with being on the autism spectrum.

My duties at work sometimes require me to wear this beast of a mask, but I really don't mind wearing it for extended periods of time because it is honestly easier to breathe in than the disposable N95s, plus I'm more scared if inhaling stuff that could give me cancer or otherwise fuck up my lungs than I am of getting COVID at this point...

    I just remembered something weird...

My parents bought a brand new house in Montgomeryville, PA in late 1990. It was built by the now-defunct David Cutler Group. This wealthy couple (Doctor and dentist; I forget which was which) had the house built from the ground up and picked out everything. This included the kitchen (cabinets and counters), carpets, hardwood floors, lighting fixtures...

Anyway, so the doctor/dentist couple backed out of the deal when the house was almost complete, and Cutler pocketed their $20,000 deposit. The house totaled $240K (again, this was 1990). Cutler agreed to sell the house to my parents for $220K since they had already twenty grand. The shutters were beige, and the house next door also had beige shutters, so Cutler replaced them with blue shutters for free at my parents' request.

Here's the weird thing I was thinking of...

The master bathroom had wall-to-wall carpeting in it! Who the hell does that? My parents got a brand new 4-bedroom house with central A/C and gas heat in a nice area for $20K off list price so they weren't complaining, but seriously, who the hell does that?!?!

    Move to Tn.
The only places requiring mask are federal and local government buildings.

Other than that, no one is wearing a mask.

I went to the Bucks County Courthouse (well now there's a new courthouse next door and the old one is just offices, including the treasurer) to get a dog license for Porter. No masks required; I didn't think federal/government buildings were still requiring masks. My girlfriend says her gynecologist still requires masks in the waiting room, but not in the exam rooms. My doctor and dentist don't require masks at all, while my dermatologist and therapist only require them in the waiting room; I blatantly ignore the mask requirement at my therapist and nobody says a thing...

It’s a conspiracy by the carpet companies. Ruin the carpet with human waste, must replace carpet.

My parents always had carpet in their bedroom, though one of them was already built before buying it despite being new construction.

We don't have carpet, a couple of area rugs instead. Tile or hardwood mostly

Haha..or Ozzy, that's one of his nicknames.

Me either. Carpet in the bathrooms was a fad in the 70’s and 80’s.
I don’t care if it’s “easier on the feet” it has no place in a bathroom.
