For me, it couldnt have happened fast enough. Super smooth transition…and now we can buy whatever we want. I bought a Glock on day one and shit my pants when I could leave with it (no more 7 day wait and $10 fee)

 

And no sales tax on guns & ammo here in WV.

I personally have never had or heard of anyone local with an issue. I wouldn’t ever buy one. But again, just my opinion.

 

I don’t think I’ve heard many instances of cats being stolen in public setting unless the vehicle has sat for days. If your work and home parking is secure, I wouldn’t worry.

I just put on the new Caliraised cat shield and got one for the wife’s Prius too. We driveway park on a relatively busy street but it’s quiet at night. Seen an uptick of cat thefts on Nextdoor as well as shed and break-ins in the neighborhood. Figure it’s only a matter of time till someone tires.

 

It seems these “petty” crimes are on the rise. Fine upstanding citizens traveling to more upscale neighborhoods looking for open car doors at night. Becoming more brazen, because they can. I am a believer in the broken windows theory. If we don’t patch those windows, they’ll keep breaking more.

 

When I worked at a shop in the Canton neighborhood of Baltimore city we saw a big increase of convertor thefts. We had a customer with a 4th gen 4runner have theirs stolen twice in the same month. But there's always been alot of thefts in that neighborhood. I remember one evening about 15 years ago 2 crackheads stole my mom's bench from her sidewalk from right under her living room window. Neighbors saw them do it. I bought her a new one and had to chain & lock it, its ridiculous. I can't stand a thief.

 

Now I see why you got out of Baltimore.

 

Will they sell to out of state? I was at the Rural King in Hanover, they had a decent sale going on but there were signs saying that they would not sell to anyone with a merry-lund license.

Not sure if it’s a WV law or something, but might try Cabela’s. Could be a store to store policy.

Yesterday I had to drive through Pine Barrens, NJ. Everytime I drive through there I stare longingly at all the trails you can see going off the main road. I wonder if driving through those is any fun. I’m sure it wouldn’t be AOAA fun since it’s mainly flat but still.

I bought ammo in WVa they didn’t even ask for ID

 

I bought guns here in WV with my MD ID. Since my ID was MD I needed my WV property tax paper proving I owned property in WV, thats all i needed. Walk out in 15-20mins with a new handgun. My back is much better, no more shooting sciatic nerve pain down my leg. Back gets a bit achy after doing firewood chores but I take numerous breaks to let it rest.
