An undisclosed team has protested Max Anstie's Firepower Honda, claiming it is a 280. More to come.

There is always cheating in racing. But most don't get caught. :bikewhoops:

Houston was good. I thought Chase was going to run away with the main after seeing him in Qualifying and the Heat. But Tomac rode great. Cooper had a great debut. Def scary for DF but glad to hear that he's mostly ok. Nice ride from AP also.

Deegs had a great debut, in my opinion. Hymas also. I wanted to see more from JMart but supposedly he was just playing it safe and getting out of Rd1 w/o injury. Still that last mistake was a bummer. Not sure what to think about Anstie. He rode great, there is no doubt. Would be crazy if it was a big bore. I feel like it's unlikely but I guess we will see. Also, I thought Vialle looked really good until he went down. If he settles in, he is going to be fast. Outdoors, he will be a real contender.

I thought the race was meh. Definately a speed track. Best moment was the dude in the 250's who smacked the side of the tunnel. Glad he didn't get hurt. Christian Craig looked better but each lap he was either two places up or two places down from his previous lap. Didn't help that he came out last in the first turn. Starting to look like Dean Wilson is going to be out of a job if he doesn't pick it up.

More sand, Awesome. I think it creates more passing opportunities and we all know we need more passing area's.

I'm really surprised Deno has had a factory ride for so long, he's got tons of talent, but the only time he rides well is the last 2 races before the end of a contract year.

Outside of the sand the Tampa track looks like a snooze fest :bikewhoops:

Racing on the Houston track was better than expected. :bikewhoops::bikewhoops::bikewhoops:

I agree it looks pretty lame. Is that stadium much smaller than the others?

Good point. A lot of ppl think the sand at Houston was the difference w/ Chase and Eli in the main. Chase worked the inside most of the day but it became bad by the main. He never adjusted but the outside was working for Eli. Some ppl hate that stuff but I think it's a nice element to the track.

Yep Chase would gain a second or two each lap but when he tried to pull his line through the sand he would lose it back to Tomac. I would have thought his pit board would have told him this but I dunno.

Looks like flour. Great for the fan not so much for the rider.

Steve Matthes mentioned earlier this week that Evan Ferry has been radio silent due to 2 surgeries over the fall/winter. Sounds like he's still with NSA Yami and getting back on the bike now, with plans to race the last 2 futures.
