Lunar Rock Tailgate Stolen

My tailgate was just stolen within the past couple hours at my work parking lot. We’re going to look through security cameras but please keep an eye out located in Bellflower, CA.

It’s a 2022 Lunar Rock with black V6 badge and @MESO customs topo Tacoma letters. It’s also got a black Velcro strip on the top for my Softopper.

Was the tailgate locked?
Any form of theft deterrent?

 

Well, on the plus side, there's probably someone in your area that just happens to have one for sale in that color with letters, velcro, and everything.

...but seriously, what do thieves do with these? If they're just scrapping them, wouldn't the scrapyard operator become a bit suspicious when the same guy shows up every week with mostly tailgates? Last I heard, there were laws against knowingly dealing in stolen property.

 

Check and keep an eye out on offer up, craigslist, ect.

Was it locked or are the D-bags using locksmith picks to unlock the gates now?

Yea unfortunately I never got into the habit of locking so I do take it as my fault— I had a 2nd Gen Taco and never locked my tailgate. I was planning to get the adapter harness to be able to lock my tailgate with the key fob but now I’m definitely going to be getting that and cat covers.. after I get a tailgate

When folks on here make references about spending extra cash on unnecessary things, I disregard...there's no feeling better than satisfying your own judgement calls for security.

I have the OEM Tailgate Lock & the SaBellCo lock. It was an expense I was willing to make.

That sucks op. People today just don't respect others property. I live in El Monte and i put 2 locks on my tailgate after ready all the horror stories from people that lost their tailgates.

 

Kind of interesting how a young woman has 3 new tailgates for sale in Pico!!!

 

Apparently she has an "offroad shop". Weird, because I don't know why an offroad shop would be removing and collecting tailgates.
