I like looking at where you guys all come from for these get togethers... GB is 41 miles and only 15 minuets less than my commute from Ashland to BRF's. @Larry Dangerfield, BRF's seems blessedly close for you-under three hours! Milwaukee is almost three hours and Chicago is only 20 minutes longer than my drive, where are all the Ill guys? 3-4 hours seems so doable when compared to 20+... Must be getting old.

Well, someone is cutting onions, like a bunch of them. I'm so, so grateful to have been able to help him out and so proud of this group for pitching in some money. His tires were mismatched and unsafe. Learned some more and apparently he's had some major health issues as well and all those bills are weighing him and his wife down. Do good everyone, make this world better, take care of each other and try your best to put yourself in someone else shoes.

Also, I've never caught a trout before and he said he'd take me to some good spots to catch one so that's pretty cool :)

Glad we could help out with funds but none of it would have been possible without your big heart Tyler. Truck mods and internet jokes are fun, but things like giving away your tires to help your fellow man are what it's all about. Good job man, you're a rockstar!

I believe buying a aripsaw would be a wise financial decision. Then again, I’m in this thread…

BRF is only 2.5 hours for me. :)

After driving ~1400 miles each way every winter to visit my mom for the last 8 years, a few hours is nothing.

And I thought a 13 hr. drive one way was far. At least I can do it in a day. Yours is a 2 day ordeal. 2 loong days.

So I want to share an important lesson with the WI crowd about encouraging spending: This is definitely a two-way street. Whilst I was searching for truck caps for @Larry Dangerfield turns out I found the bumper and light bar of my dreams. Had to get it because C4 doesn't even make these anymore and it was brand new old stock. So be careful what you wish upon others - I don't have a wife/accountant but if I did they'd be a bit upset right now (not that it matters, I'm happy lol). But now I need a winch...

On the other hand, here is my most recent selfie:

Actually, I've done it straight through a few times. My best time was 19 hours in a Scion TC, 80+ MPH most of the way (85-90 at times). Actually, that's the year I got a speeding ticket on the way home.

On average, 21-22 hours, including stops. I've found that a sit down meal halfway through helps a lot. Otherwise, you start to feel really weird after about 10-12 hours.

But, I've split it into 2 days the last few years, because I drive slower with the kayak. :turtleride:

I did a little exploring in northern Florida on the drive home this year. I think I found a place to spend a day on the kayak next year. Looks like good fishing, and the area had a nice rural feel.

Check the Badlands Apex at Harbor Freight. 12k with synthetic line, Wireless remote and it comes with a plug-in-wire in case the batteries die. . Fast reel-in (though it may be too fast for some circumstances. I had no issues.) And it has a really cool hook.:D It works great. Comparing prices to a Warn, the Apex is a steal.

Oh, there was an area I stopped for fuel a little further north that had that vibe!

The area I'm thinking about fishing felt like Florida's version of Adams county. :)
