first thing i bought was the tailgate lock for the keyless fob. already had my truck broken into in the past. sorry for your loss brother

 

Not that I'm condoning or encouraging such business practices, but a new topographic emblem set and $180 for a tailgate is probably cheaper than going through insurance. Color might match better than having a body shop spray a new one too.

 

I think she's been going out of business for some time based upon the number of posts I've seen on this forum advertising them.

 

I was thinking I saw that same add a couple of years go.

I honestly can't figure out how people who are this brazen don't wind up murdered. How many people are teetering on the edge and have their falling down moment when they see their tailgate go missing, and then they see that ad.

 

Someone at my work has theirs stolen, then they found it on offer up. Went to confront the guy, but it was super shady. He ended up having to buy his own tailgate back. I’ll keep an eye out in marina del Rey area

 

Unfortunately with something like a tailgate, even if you find it there's no way to prove it's yours unless you have some kind of specific marking as proof. Like others said the best option is to buy one on Facebook for cheap, which unfortunately is probably also stolen from someone else
