Random New Mexico History 101 with Professor Dave...

The famed Apache leader, Geronimo, was never actually a chief. He was a shaman/
medicine man. But his wisdom and expertise in guerrilla warfare caused the young braves to follow him on raids throughout New Mexico, Arizona and Northern Mexico. He and his warriors were finally cornered in Whitewater Canyon in Southwestern NM and forced to surrender. They, and the Army's Apache scouts that tracked him down, were eventually taken to a reservation in Pensacola, Florida.
The canyon, in what is now Gila National Forest, was also used by infamous outlaw, Butch Cassidy to hide from The Pinkertons. Later, because it held a year-round spring, a pipeline was constructed and the town of Graham was built. Today, a wheelchair accessible catwalk follows the path of the pipeline and provides visitors access to the beautiful area.

The chess board will be discounted cause the corner got shaved down by the belt sander by accident which I can't really fix. It was so close to being perfect too! All the corners match up and everything!
