Now your going to need 35's, regear and lockers... the hemorrhage has only just begun! Nice bumper! Ditto on the HF winch, I bought the wire cable version, will upgrade the line to synthetic this year.

I had a hard time forking over the $300 premium (doubling the price) for the synthetic line. After using the winch a 1/2 dozen times now, it was money well spent.

Made some big progress towards MOAB today. Finally did my first real fit of the skid plate I had the kids start last fall. Runs to the exhaust cross over. That now needs to get done so they can finish the bit back to the drive shaft. They made some cool slide in nut plates for that last cross member. Still more welded angle parts for strength and holes for oil access etc, but it is coming along. I think there is enough room in front to make a bull bar-JOY!

Slightly Tigerton-ed factory skid for anyone interested... Ha! Just kidding, that goes on the wall of shame!

Same! It seems like a lot of extra money, but I have no regrets.

influencing myself to make poor financial decisions today

went to look at a toyota celica GTS with @Tigerian today. was less than impressed with the condition it was in and idk what was up with the trans but something was not right.

they also had a Lexus IS F there... but they decided I couldn't drive it. they offered to take us for a ride and I told them that was a waste of my time and left. dunno how you sell a car when you won't let people drive it. I guess they must have thought I couldn't afford it or something.. with my tundra parked right in front of their window lol

Oh, those are awesome! I'd love an IS-F, RC-F, or GS-F!

Maybe it's to avoid joyriding. But, that's pretty lame when you're obviously an adult capable of purchasing a Tundra.

You can partially blame me, as I was a habitual test driver in the late 90's/early 2000's. I drove MKII, turbo MKIII, and TT MKIV supras, TT RX7, TT 300ZX, turbo MKII MR2, supercharged MKI MR2, 1st gen Tacomas, a Celica GT-S, Lexus IS300, Chevys, Ford's, all kinds of shit with absolutely no intention of buying (although I bought the MKII Supra).

So, you might say I was an ASSHOLE. And, if anyone here was selling cars in the Milwaukee area, and as far as Chicago, during that period, I apologize for wasting your time! But, thanks for the fun!
Especially Dennis at Wilde Toyota. Not sure if that guy figured I'd buy something eventually, or just didn't give a shit, but he threw me the keys to a lot of fun beat-runs!

That makes me feel better knowing that I'm not the only person that has test-driven many vehicles with no intention of buying whatsoever :D

Guilty here too, it was a Mitsubishi Evo IX for me. 24 year old me almost did buy it which would have been a disaster for so many awesome reasons.

Incorrect!!!!!! Lol! I mean sometimes, but there also were a whole bunch where I knew I was never going to buy it and I was just curious what it would be like. Just off the top of my had I test drove a 2005 I think Cadillac DTS, a 2012 Cadillac CTS, I drove some completely forgettable BMW sedan of some sort, and I may or may not have gone jail time speeds in a Volkswagen GTI.

Yeah I really had no intention of buying this one when it’s $10k more than one that’s up in Minneapolis lol I figured I might as well drive something else since the celica was a bust. They also had a manual is250 on the website but it was apparently sold a couple days ago

There was an is300 I drove one time while looking for one to replace mine that I regrettably sold and when I got back the guy was like what did you think? I told him that I wouldn’t give him $3500 for it (it was listed at like 10-12k). He seemed shocked and I asked him if he had even driven that car lol it had definitely been abused / wrecked and the steering wheel squeaked as you turned, among many other things that weren’t right like the seatbelt that was torn and stitched back together.

If they offered a manual option on the 350, I would have a very hard time not buying one!

Funny, this is pretty much how I ended up buying the '85 Supra. It was an automatic, so I really wasn't interested. I did like it, but I wanted to get the salesman to kick me out, so I offered $1500 while they were asking $3500+. He said it's a deal, so I bought it... ok, my ex bought it.. have I mentioned that I was a broke loser back then :anonymous:
