haha....yes, I realized I typed the wrong thing. The paperwork from the dealership says there is a "bent inner rod on one of the rear shocks".
Dealership told me the labor is $165/hr and will likely take 10 hrs for a full kit install. So I'm getting some other options.
I'd love to do the install myself with someone who knows what they are doing because I'd love to learn....not confident enough right now to follow a YouTube video by myself. And I don't know when I may have the time to devote to doing the work.

Thank you for the offer on the stock option. I may follow-up depending what other estimates come in at.

Labor rates are what they are I suppose, but there is no way in hell it takes 10 hours to do a suspension install. I along with many others in this thread have done them in far less time, and last time I checked none of us are actual Toyota mechanics. That dealership is trying to make a buck off of you no doubt. And to Bill’s point, I’m not sure how you bent a shock unless you were in an accident or doing some hard core wheeling.

At any rate, my offer is good until someone else on here needs some shocks. I would help with the install for the price of a few beers, but my house/garage are going to be a mess for at least the next few months.

Edit: shameless plug to add that my BIL runs NOVA Speed in Manassas, and does this kind of work all the time. Might be worth giving his shop a ring? I can ask what his rate would be later this week when I see him.

I still need to venture over to him. He gets recommended a lot on the local Toyota Facebook page.

I went solar. Been using them for 4 years now. Had to replace a few due to me running them over with my tractor. They look great and adds so much to yhe landscape.

    Thanks for all of this.

Yeah it seems pretty simple with just the jack as long as you make sure to secure/support the truck properly. Way back when I did this on a few trucks I had access to a spring compressor. I've got more experience swapping leaf packs, so I'm less worried about doing that bit.

If I do it on my own I'll probably do this on a Sunday or over spring break (I work and teach at VT), so I can take it to the shop to have the alignment done right away.

I'd be happy to take the Baja's off your hands for you (paying for them, of course.). Not in any rush, so if you want to wait for some type of winter meetup I'm fine with that.

Actually, you would be surprised how much it cost.....Amazon purchase. It didn't cost much at all and seriously it's out all year and it's all solar (every light you see in the pic including the shed). It's lasted 4 years already! well worth it.

I have so much stuff it sell, give, or throw away at this point. MESO, Amsoil, chargers, diff drop, skids, etc. All new! Anyway, where is this cheese steak meet and greet? I need a cheesesteak hit. I'm originally from philly, so I grew up on that and italian hoagies!

I'm surprised. We've tried that route and the lights don't last long and it's not a great area for sun. It's why we're doing it this way.

That's a horrible idea. What time?
I like that and may want some details on your set up. I want to do our deck and patio / pond area, and maybe a walk way from the driveway.

What's everyone think about a swap meet and greet somewhere in Fairfax? Anyone have suggestions for a location?

Maybe a little further west? Brewery or something similar? Trying to look at the 28 / 66 / 50 area for ideas, but the computer isn't cooperating.

Have you looked into the transformers for pool lighting? They power pool and landscape lighting and the ones that I've seen are hardwired near the filtration/pumps... Just a thought
