Ignore the nightshade edition reference, I pointed it out to dealer and he stated a glitch in system but was a Trail Edition.

Needless to say I walked away and bid them good luck in selling a 45k truck for 73k. I told them I would be taking my business elsewhere.

I would go a step further and say that my bank made a mistake and made the check for $120k, and ask if they could refund the difference to pay for shipping and that you would like them to pay the shipper.

Toyota obviously doesn’t care they allow both Southeast Toyota Distributors and Gulf Coast Distributors to screw all their customers from their distribution area mainly the Texas/Oklahoma and the South. Some unseemly business practices within Toyota USA.

 

Did you originally think I made it up? I wouldn’t try to hurt their business on purpose; however, once they showed some unscrupulous business practices, it’s all fair game.

Here is a Trail in my area, $44k

 

I think they are full of it. I did not find that VIN number on their website for the 4 limited Tacomas they listed as coming to their dealership.

 

Plus if you enter the VIN number on the Toyota official web site VIN information link it says the VIN number is not valid.

 

I saw this coming 2 years ago and bought a new Mazda CX5 then when I really didn't need to so I wouldn't have to deal with this crap. It still only has 800 miles on it and I got it with no mark ups. My other cars both Toyota have 76K and 31K on them. I should be good to go for a long long time.

 

A $25K mark-up is an insult, and if I was hit with that I would walk and not even think about negotiating with a dealer like that.

 

A local dealer has some type of special edition supra that they want $100,000 for. It hasn’t moved in the last six months.
