You said “Mt never had atf cooler to start”. Why would a manual transmission have an automatic transmission fluid cooler? I was just trying to make a follow up joke assuming you were making a joke.

Believe it or not, I got my hitch at U-Haul and they wired it too for a flat pin for my jet skis. I had an issue with the hitch 10+ years later and they replaced it under warranty. Keep your paperwork.

    You're wrong.

The MT doesn't use any of the cooling system, main radiator or otherwise.

Which is what your statement in bold says.

    Op,

Aftermarket hitches can be bought at U-haul or retailers. Reese and DrawTite are a very good brands as well. You can install yourself if you like. A Toyota hitch will be a bit more integrated and usually tuck up better. Most aftermarket models are designed for ease of installation being the 1st concern.

A frame mounted receiver hitch will allow you to better position your trailer for weight distribution. A great benefit for adjusting g tongue eeight.

A trans cooker would always be a good upgrade. But for your trailer and bike, it wouldn’t be needed. Wiring harnesses are also available from DrawTite and Hopper, as well as Toyota

For what it’s worth, Toyota stopped offering an accessory hitch for the Tacoma after 2015. For 2016-2023 models without the factory receiver your options are aftermarket or to buy the factory receiver, which is a pricier option for sure.

If you keep an eye out on local buy/sell/trade groups, they often have OEM receiver hitches for cheap/free. Folks buy aftermarket bumpers and remove the hitch. I had one sitting for a few years at my place, no one ever wanted it so I finally dropped it at the recycler.

If one is to haul that much weight a true hitch will make you sleep better

you are wrong. the rear bumper is built like a receiver hitch. that's why you can put a ball on it. also why it bends the frame when you get rear ended.

Cheap 4 banger Taco is single axle only territory anyway, might as well just use a cheap hitch ball in the bumper because it can’t really tow anything where you’d have to start thinking about tongue weight, load distribution, or trailer leveling.

edit: if one must have a real frame mount (which adds quite a bit of weight to the poor 4 banger), I’d look at a junkyard to get OEM for cheap.

A brand new class III hitch is barely 180 bucks......

Ain't it great to have a forum such as this to exchange information to make a choice! A hitch is most likely to give one a bit more security and better turning radius when backing up and maneuvering? I've seen numerous bumpers bent downward from overloading and bad road conditions. Ultimately, it's a decision to make.
