Haha it's an improvement, trust me. Factory color was that baby blue but the hood was UV gone. Then I rustoleum'd it in college flat charcoal grey - that was great for a while until it started deteriorating

 

I’m going full time in the summer as a bus mechanic. They’ve been very gracious with my schedule, it’s nice. Since my other job at the TV network doesn’t operate during the summer I’ll have a ton of time.

The TV industry is very volatile and gig based, so I’ll be sticking around at the mechanic gig for a while.

 

That’s the thing about 90’s Toyota paint. The clear coat fails into oblivion. I repainted the hood and roof on my truck, though I used base coat clear coat.

If this fails, I promise I'll scrape it off and do a traditional gloss

 

How about you. Aren’t you in the petrochemical industry now?

 

Have fun scraping it off haha. On my old Tacoma I tried to save some bedsides and it took hours to scrape just the rails off to reach the spot welds.

 

Oh man, I can't believe it'd be too much worse than getting the rustoleum off - I'd clog the sandpaper about every foot of body

 

I Start working for an oil and gas production company (they get the shit out of the ground) in May

Anything's better than the color it is, if it's gonna get anyway near something that'll leave pin striped

 

I already pin striped it, but the 4Runner got it way worse.

Leaving it dirty is really the best thing I can do to hide it.

This is the only winning strategy with black vehicles. Did it with my blazer too.


It’s also the lazy and cheap way, so I’m all in.

 

I keep the inside pristine though.

I was going to order a new leather to replace the passenger seat but my MIL said the F250 had an engine light recently so I'll need to figure that out so I can smog it.

 

Same. Love a clean interior, it’s better for my mental health.


Hope that engine light is something easy and not intermittent.

 

All my trucks get filthy this time of year, need a good cleaning. But it's miserable to do in the cold
