    This car looked so good in person. The blue numbers and text were foil and reflective, so they would shimmer when the sun hit them just right. It was the perfect paint job for the early '90s when everything was going neon and shiny. I saw this scheme run at Daytona in '91 and Atlanta in '92 before the team closed up shop. That Whitcomb team fell apart in '92. IIRC, there were some unpaid engine bills, and they just limped along with used stuff that season.

    The new Dale Jr. Download with Sterling Marlin is pretty great. I always liked him, and he drove some sharp-looking cars through the years. In my opinion, he was one of the last old-school guys. Started wrenching on his dad's racecars, quit big time racing, and went back to tending his farm while dabbling in late models. Asked about how he drives a racecar with Parkinson's, he said, "Me and a race car is married. Get in there, and the adrenaline starts going."
