Morning 50's, love the retirement chatter. Seventeen months for me. It's a shame what we have been reduced to, holding positions vacant, unrealistic workloads. Actually, I am embarrassed for our 'leadership.' Superannuation is November and that's what is keeping me here, my pension. I will just stop there, with Phil Collins singing it best.... I don't even want to think about this. Of course I would love the be able to retire, but due to some severe financial set backs I have had over the years, I expect I will have to keep working for a rather long time yet. That woul dnot necessarily be a bad thing, if I had a job/field that I actually enjoyed.... :annoyed:

Morning all! This weather is really strange, but I'm not complaining. Let's enjoy all we can.

On the retirement front, I want to retire with the same ability I have now and not worry about finances. I know many of us have lost a lot in the stocks, which is why I wish I could run my own company that provides benefits like mine does now with a twist. Instead of matching or putting in money into 401k, I'd rather give the choice to put it into someone's mortgage or help with a down payment towards one. Home security is where it matters and attracts people imho.

Anyway, with my modding addiction....I'm gonna needs funds in the future!

    Morning all

I was going to retire and get a part time job. Then I figured my job pays more and I can just slow down.

My wife kept urging me to get one but I keep busy and didn't want to get back into the grind of a new job, being low man on the totem pole. As many of you may have experienced, as you age, you have less tolerance for bullshit and the thought of some young know nothing being my boss just isn't appealing.

Well, when you hang out with the old dogs, it just makes the end look so far away when you're just a pup.

Good morning everybody, have a great Thursday.

The history nerd tour yesterday was good, we didn’t finish so we will be back next week. The reenactment characters and museum workers are starting to recognize us :anonymous:

Good Morning. Current fact…when kids get older, they don’t get cheaper. Haha. Yes they all have decent jobs but life happens. We were cared for by our parents and we want to do the same. So I will continue to work. As far as retirement…I’m on a pension plan calculated by a % times years of service times highest 5 years. Which means another 9 years if I want to maximize. I like my job and I get a month off in the Summer and another month + off throughout the year. Plus gives me something to do. Have a great day. Stay Well…Stay Safe.
