Maybe someone can up with a clip to attach to your belt and hang the cap there so you don’t accidentally leave it behind. Better yet make the belt buckle a holder.

Fucking brilliant. I need that now. My tonneau is all sorts of screwed up. This might be the mod that finally pushes me to start my Build Thread.

On a serious note, I'd say my favorite "cheap" mods are:

    - Plasti dip door emblems
    - V6 de-badge
    - Smoked sequential mirror turn signals
    - Center console organizer

    @HuskerPaul

    That's an understatement! lol

The thing is, I don't mess with someone until I get to know them. But that's me and I don't expect everyone to do the same.

I don't mind some "ribbing" as long as the reply is done with an explanation, e.g. (explain it in parenthesis or use "lol")

Most people don't like to spell things out (so lots of acronyms are involved) let alone explain themselves.

I've learned a lot since first logging onto a forum in 2011...a motorcycle forum at that! lol

Talk about newbies starting out on a 1990s/2000 series Gixxer 650/750/1000 getting flamed!

Back to the topic...the OEM Gas Cap is simply tethered & inserted into a tension prong. It worked fine for me but I liked the idea of a gadget that attached with a single screw.

Since there were Tacoma owners getting their unlock-able gas caps removed/damaged due to thieves trying to syphon gas or pour sugar or any other type of material to mess up the fuel system...hence the gas cap lock.

Not an expensive add-on for me but boy do people like to voice their opinion that the tether works fine for them and should be kept as such.

I bought a Talon CAT skid because of the catalytic converters being sawzed (sp) off and that was not a cheap add-on.

I bought the TRD Skid and that was not a cheap upgrade from the flimsy OEM skid.

If you've read all this, thanks...it's a Friday and my work week was non-stop BS but that's the way it is.

Time for a beer later on and dinner with my wife at local watering hole.

    Dinner was great!

It's friggin' cold as a MF tonight!

Good thing I have a full tank of gas and a locking gas cap with a screw type cap holder for when when I refuel. lol

For anyone looking, I bought my buddy the Fram gas cap off ebay. It's not throwing any codes if ya cluck it 3 times. Sorry, no lanyard, so you might need a gasshole or something :notsure:

Thank you. I actually think this photo was from the first trial version. The back “plunge” cap has been changed to a screw cap and I added a pressure relief valve.

I bought some 4” u-strap stainless clamps off Amazon. They are bolted with stainless carriage bolts and double nutted hex nuts to the prinsu.

have to paint it matte black once the weather breaks. Hope that will heat the water a bit under sunny days.

I liked the Liftd gas cap holder vs. the Gashole...but I didn't want the Liftd "Taco Sauce" version (personal preference, not a fan of the "Taco Sauce" thing). The Liftd version has been out of stock for at least 6 months. I ended up going with this copycat Amazon...$14 & impressed with the quality of it.

I take one of those shopping bags with those stiff string handles and hook one of the handles on the shift lever. Sits in the passenger wheel well and serves as the trash bag for long road trips.

Oh I've got the cheap mod for you. :cookiemonster:

A set of six "Jeep" square-ring tie downs - 8 bucks
National Hardware adjustable bungees - $20/pair

Being able to loadstop and/or secure lightweight items in any configuration I want, priceless.

This is why TW is so dangerous. One of many threads that I stumbled upon and brushed off thinking "yeah that's stupid," and yet the stupid still wormed its way into my shopping cart. :anonymous::anonymous:

A few things that I really like for the interior are the AJT designs chrome delete kit. I got mine in 2020 when they still could do the real Toyota logo
    20230209_101755.jpg
Also Tacomods XL radio knobs, they have very nice feel with the knurling on the sides.

I thought I was done with mods since I haven't bought or wanted anything for so long. Then I seen this Z Precision cup holder mod yesterday that will allow me to fit a 32oz or litre water bottle that I carry. So I had to order it. Can't wait for it to come. Suppose ur never done with mods :spending:

The z precision cup holder is :muscleflexing:
M/Ts only downside is not being able to fit one.

I noticed that. They need to make a version for the 3 pedal trucks too, but maybe there isn't enough demand since most people now get an automatic, if every one that wanted one asked for it they might decide to make it.

Nice! I'm always balancing Nalgenes or Miir Cups onto the cup holders and their contents always ends up going all over. Sold!
