I'm flying into Phoenix in early May to do some house hunting and rental cars are ridiculously expensive. I checked out Turo, which is like Airbnb for cars, and will be in a Corvette for cheaper than a shitty compact car from enterprise. Not going to lie, I'm excited. :goingcrazy:

hey congrats to you too! Yeah I really dont want this to turn into a modified vehicle. Between the 4runner, taco, harley, and now a 84 pick up frame and body I bought I have enough things to waste money on.

Nice area. I use to live in Surprise when I first moved out to AZ. Close enough to town but far enough out you can still get to the desert fast. Also Lake pleasant right there. The back way to crown king for wheeling. Well congrats on when you make the move.

Ive never heard of Turo. Checked it out and I think I'll be renting a car to take the Mrs. on a weekend getaway.

This’ll be my first time trying it out but I’ve heard good things. So much cheaper than rental car companies.

Sure, but it’s still surprising how much cheaper it was. I paid $60 a day for this corvette versus $85 a day from enterprise for a shitty compact.

That is incredibly cheap. I looked into Turo on and off for a while, and I never saw anything that cheap. Buddy went with a GTR for $500/day and enjoyed it though!

What I’ll do then is make a proper for sale ad because ideally I will have a buyer lined up before I even get there. That way I don’t have to deal with storing it for any amount of time.

I’m operating on limited connectivity right now because fios is out in my area and cell coverage is shit, but once I get an ad put together I’ll share in here and tag you and the other guy (who has first dibs at the moment). The summarized version is it’s an 18’x8.5’, drive over fenders, 9,990 GVWR, brakes on both axles, 2021 model year, new tires, upgraded rear lighting, tool box, spare tire and mount, 7,500 carrying capacity, title in hand, $6k.

    Happy Belated Birthday @XPOTRPR

I personally like Gaia GPS but I don’t use the zoom feature on satellite too heavily. I mostly use it to plot my track and pre download all my different layers to make sure I’m not camping where I shouldn’t and don’t get too off track.

Doesn’t Garmin have a newer “overland” marketed device? Maybe that would have more detailed satellite. I’ve thought for how much I pay for Gaia was unmatched for features tho
