Tacoma tax is over, just got to shop a bit.

Paying a market adjustment on a Tacoma is stupid.

That dealer just didn't want to sell him a truck.

Agreed, but just noting that thread was about a Trail Edition.

I would bet that you could find a dealer somewhere tossing a market adjustment on a vintage Yugo? Haha!

I bought my '23 TRD Pro M/T at MSRP five weeks ago in San Francisco. It was on the lot, not allocated/being built/shipped, but physically there, which is why I probably got it for MSRP.

Note, I don't live in California, I live in the Seattle area in WA. No dealers around me had a M/T Pro allocated that wasn't already reserved OR marked over MSRP either with dealer add-ons or straight markup. Not really even in the neighboring states of OR/ID. At the time I called around, there were 4 TRD Pro M/T sitting on the lots in the Bay area, of which 2 would sell me at MSRP.

If you're not looking for a M/T, you might have better luck, but the M/T were few and far between.

Anyone, whom pays over msrp these last few years, is just feeding foolish auto market. Let them drowned. Your only hurting yourself, by paying over, and paying market adjustment.

My dealership has not charged over MSRP the whole time, looked at a pro yesterday. No mark up whatsoever.

Zero dollars over MSRP is the correct answer.

Zero extra dollars along with zero extra port add-ons. I got one port installed item which I requested 9 months before the truck was built.

I shopped the entire time I was waiting on my 23 to come in. Out 500+ miles from SC.
I was unable to find any dealers willing to sell a grey or black pro at msrp (that had one) that didn't have huge $ dealer added packages.
Some said they would sell at msrp but on pro's all had some kind of fluff package. Many had big markups. $20k at one dealership. When the rubber hit the road (buyers order) they all had some form of BS.
After negotiating on an allocated truck looks like I paid about 3.5% over msrp in the form of dealer BS, doc fee...

I don't know why that dealer keeps bringing in manual trucks, LOL. I got my 4x4 Sport Manual there for $4k off MSRP. They specifically told me at the time that nobody in the city wanted a manual transmission. That truck had been on their lot for 11 months. No test drives, nothing. This was in 2019. At the time, they also had a black TRD Pro Auto there with a $4k dealer mark up. Good score.

If you are within a few hours of martinsburg WV CMA Toyota there is awesome. Drove 3 hours one way to look at what they had. 35 mins total time after test drive I was out the door with keys. No markups no sales pitches for extras. Told them that when I walked in and never got asked if I wanted anything. Clean easy and no stress. Was worth a little day trip.

Dealers around me in the Fredericksburg Richmond area had anywhere from $5k to $12.5k markup. F that bullshit.

They had a Pro on the lot no markup. I was tempted but every grand I save is 10 more acres in Wyoming when we move later this year.

I was shopping last month for a TRD Pro MT before I got my TRD OR MT and I got a quote for MSRP but it was in Solar Octane. I ended up with a TRD OR MT in Lunar Rock

MSRP. Anything over is a rip off.
