Might just be chalked up to a culture thing for our age group.

I too used to participate in making such devices. But we can no longer get dry ice easily where I’m at….. Might be one of them “take a look in the mirror” deals lol.

All my rigs are purpose built. From crawling to camping. I also enjoy a nice stock truck for what that’s worth. Toyota’s are the jam!
Lol, to the store I go! I got no plans! Roll them off the back of my SxS like depth charges!

I grew up on a small island that only had 4000 people on it, and it was a 7 hour ferry to the mainland, which was a town of about 7000, and to get to the city was a 16 hour drive from there.

All that to say, we didn't have anything like a Walmart haha

That sounds like an interesting up bringing. I grew up in a really old house that the toilet water would freeze so you'd have to break the ice to use it. Wood stove and fire place. I loved that kind of living though. It was simple. It still brings me joy when I think about it.

What line of work are you in? Or is this a matter of generational wealth? I clean my own glasses...

Yeah it's a cool place, very rugged, and tonnes of amazing offroading on beaches and stuff to do, with no people anywhere. The island is actually pretty big, so my town had around 400 people in it, and I went to highschool in a town 40 min drive away. Same thing with wood stove and all that. It's called Haida Gwaii if you want to look it up. They only got cell service recently a few years ago. I moved away in 2009. And we didn't get internet until early 2000s.

I went back a few years ago and there were still bike jumps I built as a kid off the side of the road. It's like a time capsule haha.

It's very well known for its fishing lodges if that's something you're into

never tried dry ice but in an unheated uninsulated garage in the middle of a michigan winter (not even the UP) I stripped my whole rx7 in half an hour with just a hammer and flathead.
wonder if more cold soaking helps. or maybe just age.

Hard to say, all of the factory stuff is different for each manufacturer I have also knocked all sound deadening out the way you describe on my early to late 90’s DSM’s. A good chunk came up in my truck with no effort at all. I’m assuming it’s possible cold has something to do with that.

It’s been way too long since the last update. The fabrication work is finally over. The cage was painted over the weekend and I am now moving on to assembly. Doing double layer sound deadening throughout the entire cab. Kilmat as the base with siless thermal barrier/sound deadening over the top of that. My engine is currently stripped down slightly for a reseal before it goes back in the truck for good.

It’s a thing of beauty to finally be headed in the right direction.

Thank you! I really appreciate it. It’s been a super fun road to travel. We are currently building my wife’s taco to be an exact replica of what mine was before this whole LT build started. I do miss that capability at times.
