FYI - I don't have the climate control function BTW.

I turn the AC to the first setting and no air blows out. I turn it up to the 2nd setting and start to feel the air blow out. I turn it to any setting higher and it's essentially the same as the 2nd setting. It doesn't get any stronger on the AC levels 3-5.

Any quick thoughts on what this could be? I just changed my in-cabin microfilter a few months ago.

I had a similar issue on my 2nd gen. It would only blow on high.
Under the dash below the glove was a plug. When I would wiggle it the AC switch would work on all speeds.
One of the pins in the plug was funky. It could also be your switch has failed.

    You checked the blower resistor?

I haven't looked at the truck since I got back from a trip, which is when I found out. Got busy. Just needed a starting point - I'll check that out!

Are you talking specifically about AC, or just the blower fan?

When you increase the fan speed, do you hear an increase in fan noise, even though you don't feel an increase in air volume?

No increase in fan noise. No increase in fan volume, either. It's like it's just OFF and then ON. Turns on on the 2nd setting and noise and volume doesnt change on level 3-4-5.

Was about to ask the same thing. Does this happen only on a/c mode or all mode.

Kind of sounds like maybe the blower resistor has shorted from 2 across the bank, so no matter what setting you dial on, you can only ever get '2' or 'Off'.

So I swapped the blower motor and resistor. Same thing. I visually confirmed a connection point was burnt, so I swapped out the connector too and used butt connectors while matching up the wire colors/position from the old connector. My filter is basically brand-new and looks clean. What in the world is going on, would you say?

It does the same thing - 1st setting nothing happens. Setting 2-3-4-5 are the exact same, low/medium air blowing. Doesn't increase in intensity at all.

I have no idea if 3rd Gens are the same but the 2nd Gen had an external-to-the-fan resistor type card that would control the speed. There was also a mod to beef up that burnt connector IIRC.

In any case, there was a TSB at some point. I don’t know if it was just a blower motor replacement but it could be something to look into.

    Good luck!
