So my buddy asks me to do the Lost Coast with him and I jumped at the chance. Tried the race suit. Wouldn't fit. Tried the 90's neon suit. Barely fit. Leather can be an unkind mistress at times. Lost Coast 2018. Go ahead, poke fun. It won't hurt through the suit...

Cadwell Park in England. Would you like to see something like this in MotoGP or too dangerous?

If that's Ballig Bridge (spelling) I jumped my ZX7 over it in 1990. A few friends and I went to watch the TT.

Damn dirty bikes, they bite hard! I knew both those guys got injured but didn't realize how bad Dovi's was. That's a minor mangle!

Speaking of injuries, any of y'all had some good ones on a bike? I've been lucky with only 3 over the last 23 years.

First and worst: in '99, I crashed a YZ125 riding with 2 friends in Peter's Mill / Tasker's Gap OHV area. Full safety gear, still managed to break my right cheek (right eye socket down to teeth) and put the handle bar 5" into my right side abdomen. Lucky for me, there were 4 guys on quads nearby who realized I crashed and came over to help. One of the had a cell phone (not the norm in '99) and amazingly, he had enough signal to call 911. I was in shock, fingers turning blue/black, couldn't move. Had to be Humvee'd to nearest road miles away to Ambulance to get down the mountain to get a chopper ride to UVA. Honestly, I was lucky to live through that. Nobody was on the trails that day and it just so happened that where I crashed, were people, a cell phone and signal. Years later, I saw a picture of me in the hospital bed and didn't even recognize it was me...

In 2006 at Virginia International Raceway, North Course, I came into T7 super hot and didn't blip the throttle on downshift. Back of the bike started bouncing so I decided to ride it out in the grass. Well, the grass was off camber and I didn't let off the front brake enough and down I went. Grade 3 Acromio-clavicular separation. Actually, I had it on go pro and made a video of it. Let me find the link..

Last one was also at VIR in 2007 on the South Course. Came in hot to the famous Oak Tree corner, went for the ride it out in the grass and couldn't slow it down in time. Had to try to low side it before hitting a tire wall which turned high side, pitching me into the tire wall. I fractured my right wrist scaphoid.

I can't complain, as I've ridden, raced and coached on track 25k-ish miles since then with only 3 other crashes and no injuries.

Bonus crash footage (lol) racing a 250 in a 300 class race. Went from pole, to last, back up to second before low siding from a nail in the rear tire. VIR North Course. Crash is somewhere after 14 minute mark if you wanna skip.

Got any good crashes, videos to share? Let's see 'em!

I've had a few off track excursions and my fair share of dirt bike wrecks but always walked away. Until 10 years ago. Hot July Friday. Came home from work and changed into shorts and a tank top. Hopped on the YSR and headed to the store and bought a 12 pack. Put it on the tank and held it with my arms. Such a nice day I decided to detour. Had the little YSR bouncing off the limiter coming into a turn a couple blocks from home and accidentally double downshifted and the bike high sided. 12 pack gone, shoes gone, skin gone. Had to have multiple hand surgeries and PT. Funny, out of all the bikes I've owned, a 50cc minibike would be the worst crash of them all. Remember kids, ATGATT.

Dang. You got some metal too, eh? I needed 2 titanium plates and 4 screws for my face. I was pissed when I saw they were charging $900 per screw. lol

Man, I can't wait for MotoGP 2023 to start. Seeing as Yamaha still has not fixed their issues, Fabio has got to be regretting his decision to extend his contract. I hope he switches manufacturers after 2023. Moto2 riders being fleeced for Yamaha MotoGP hopefully see the light and stay put. Both Yamaha and Honda have much work to do to get their bikes up to speed. Crazy since they've been the dominators for the last 20+ years, primarily.
