    What an ordeal!

Do you have wheel lug locks?

It doesn't hurt to invest in the OEM Tailgate Lock and SaBellCo.

Glad you got A Tailgate back on there!

My thoughts exactly, only a little sliver of the cement would show unless I get a full wrap topo made!

I don’t have wheel locks, I may get some for deterrent. I’ve ordered the anti tweaker device for the hinge and the adapter to hook the tailgate lock to my key fob so I won’t need to rekey it. I’m also planning to get cat shields now to cover all my bases.

I like the idea of putting some sort of identifier in the tailgate. My neighbor who is a detective used to focus on auto theft rings and he said when they recover vehicles and stolen parts it helps to have the VIN somewhere hidden. He said thieves usually try to remove them all but if you can hide it well enough then it will help with recovery (I'm not too sure how it helps though.)

Dang. Ordered one from them this afternoon after reading this. Didn’t know they were on the banned list. Ive had bad experiences with both Cali raised and am done with them.
Anyways, glad you found a tailgate. I double locked my cap and locked the tailgate. Hopefully the pop n lock anti theft will provide even more protection. Really wish I could move my truck back to the garage. People are shady in this town.
Also if the color really bothers you I know a shop in Culver City that will color match spray paint. It’s a little pricey, but it’s a 100% match. I did my bumper and you can’t tell the difference. Hit me up if you want their number.

Not trying to be a jerk and I know you saved a ton of money.
Me personally, would never buy a stolen tailgate. I wouldn't want to keep feeding these thieves my money hence justifying their actions in their minds. If they have a bunch of stolen tailgates that they can't sell, then they will eventually stop stealing them. The cheaper they sell them for, the faster they sell them and the less chance they have for someone to bust them with stolen property.
I don't mean to lecture, everyone has their own logic, TW members and gun carrying thieves alike, carry on:thumbsup:

Nah, I definitely understand what you mean and I actually agree with you— it probably was just an impulse buy to get the Cement tailgate. I just got a lot of things on my plate these past couple weeks and I really don’t have the time and money for this to happen on top of it haha. Proposing to my lady this weekend and just a whole bunch of things have been going on so seeing an open truck bed that I still need to take care of because I freakin love my truck just doesn’t make me feel any better

You know that's actually a good point, i didn't even think of that. Unless it's a experienced theif, i doubt they would even think of replacing the lock

So this happened this morning— the weird thing is that the photo used is actually “my” photo that was cropped. I’ve been trying to get photos from the guy of the actual tailgate. So I’m going to be talking with the cops to find out how to deal with it with them if I need to get involved or if I should even pursue it.
