    i have the carbon fiber alpha battle rail and it never sat right on my ar. I was under the impression it required a specialized nut but you may have just enlightened me in how i have the clamshell placed

    What the others said, aluminum and uses standard barrel nut. It sat perfectly on my Rock River and was solid. I just have BCM rails on others and decided it was time to swap.

    I've got a Troy battle rail on my SBR. Same experience, it's solid! Never had an issue with it. And Impact Weapons Components makes a slick little qd mount for it.
