How cold did it get inside?

my neighbors pipes started to freeze, but he was able to catch it in time and warm it up with a hairdryer off his little generator.

I was mostly worried about the pipes to the pool equipment, it basically runs constantly in freeze protection mode at those temperatures. If I hadn’t had the generator going, they definitely would’ve frozen. First world problem I know.

House got down to 58F. It was 7F out when power went out at 8am.

All the water lines are in the crawl space, which I had closed all the vents a couple days prior to stop air from circulating down there.

That power outage was some BS. Without power for 10hrs, luckily we have a gas fire place and none of my plumbing is on an exterior wall. I ordered a 12,500kw generator while sitting in front of the fire place. Took the house a good 3days to fully heat back up again

I'm seriously considering getting a standby generator now. It seems this happens a few times a year now, especially in the summer time.

    I've got a quote for a Champion 14kw installed for $7k

    https://www.championpowerequipment....by-generator-with-200-amp-whole-house-switch/

    I've got a 120gal propane tank already.

I could downsize to the 12.5kw version for $1k less. It would still power the heat pump or AC and select appliances, but not the whole house like the 14kw would.

I want one as well, but it's like 800 items down the list of shit we want to spend money on at the house, so the rollout genny will hold us over. We have nat gas so it would be an easier install, just cant swing it right now

I was going to do a whole house generator, but my natural gas is on one side of the house and electrical panel is on the other, so it would’ve been an expensive run either way. The Honda that I got will power the whole house as long as I do some manual load shedding in the panel. We don’t need to run the dryer in the oven at the same time anyway. :)

I need to play around with the one I just got, on paper I can run everything but the oven. Sucks I mean what's better during a power outage than fresh baked cookies LOL!!

That’s one of the reasons why I like my pellet grill, I can technically cook anything on it that I could in the oven, and it uses almost no electricity. As long as you don’t mind your cookies being smoked.

Much better than last time. Walking about the same at 7 weeks post op as I did at 4 months post op.

First surgeon was the official foot and ankle surgeon of Nascar (Orthocarolina doc) Came highly recommended.

Latest surgeon is the leading foot and ankle surgeon of Orthocarolina. Came highly recommended from the first surgeon.

Same surgery was done, but latest guy did a bunch of custom fabrication inside my ankle. More bone removed, drilled a bunch of holes in my heel bone and filled with bone cement, used stem cells, etc. Amazing the difference and I still have a long ways to go.

There is still hope for me to sell feet pics :D
