So I'm about to pull the trigger but concerned for attaching to my rack. I only see being able to use 2 mounts. Will this cause an issue given the weight, or am I missing something and looking at it all wrong. Pic of rack for reference[IMG] !

I've had mine on for a while now, on a regular ole yakima tube rack. On that burly thing I wouldn't worry about it tbh.

Ran into a stupid issue getting it on though. Rack doesnt sit high enough to allow the awning to clear the rear doors. Any idea of a relatively cheap way to raise this about 3.5"? Or, can the OVS brackets be installed inverted?

    A bunch of junk

I'd get 2 L brackets made with multiple mounting points. That would solve that issue

As in towards the tailgate? Tried that, doesn't cover properly and still too low. Entire awning and bracket needs to go up about 3.5". Going to try inverting the mounting plate and drive around for a bit to make sure it good. I assume it would be fine, but I'm no engineer lol

Mine has been mounted like this for over a year now. Granted, it does get removed when not in use. I used Youtuber AR-MD's video for info on how to mount it. Countertop brackets mounted to KB Voodoo awning brackets. Both bolted to the rack. The awning mount on the outside and then some countertop support brackets on the inside. 14" brackets are what I am running.

    These countertop brackets: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00S5HP49C?ie=UTF8&th=1

Here's the video where I learned about the setup. Basically used this guy's awning mount as a template. Around the 5:30 mark.

In case anyone else comes searching- i was able to install the OVS brackets no problem onto my uptop load bars. Only thing i did differently was use bigger washers than what comes with the tracnuts.

Circled the wagons and got some good coverage from the morning rain the other week.
Still want to figure out some 90 degree folding brackets for this thing at some point. Adjustable height would also be nice. Mine is a few inches too low to walk around under without ducking my head under the support arms.

Hello folks, this thread has been very helpful and I just ordered the OVS 270 awning. I have an unusual set up- I have a Rack it Lumber rack, it’s a 2” round bar and after talking to the OVS folks on the phone I think it should work. However, I think I may run into a problem. The crossbars have another bar in front of them that won’t work for their brackets- see photo. Are there any other options besides me cutting the bracket and perhaps adding a brace that I can then bolt the now 2 pieces of the bracket together around the bar?

Received my LTE yesterday. It's pretty large but manageable (that's what she said) which makes me glad I didn't get the larger versions, they'd be enormous. You don't get as much shade coverage, but that a trade off I was willing to make. Bolts seem to be stainless steel and mounting brackets are very robust. Getting it mounted up today and hopefully get to test it in the wild soon.
