Safest thing is to Save 25% of your paycheck in a savings account, then when you pay TurboTax to do your taxes, you pay the government their federal taxes due, and you pay your state their taxes due

Lol it's a few jugs of coolant I have yet to recycle; coolant from the LC when I replaced the radiator. I had them outside but they just poured concrete a few days ago so I brought it inside.

By the way, I did a test run of 4 processes versus 1 large one -

It's 12 gauge so not like there would've been any real warping but I am fucking stoked at how clean and detailed everything came out.

During "long" runs the air compressor kicked on, but I watched the gauge as the torch fired and it never dropped.

Stayed up consistently. Compressor easily keeps up with the demand the plasma cutter throws at it.

I just didn't know if I would get a tax return of any kind. Luckily I've got money saved

When you do your taxes, that's when you add additional income in the form of a 1099.

You weren't taxed on said income, so you'll need to pay taxes on it. If you're expecting a return from the W2 you filed, what you owe will just get deducted from it.

But like Jimmie said, the best thing to do is set aside from each pay period whatever you made on that 1099. If you accrued any costs in the making of that money, make sure you've got a papertrail so you can use them as deductions.

I'm still debating getting additional education in something trade related. I really like the industrial automation route, I might go do that.

I don't think that is ever a bad idea, it has direct, measurable benefit.

Coming from a programmers point of view, I’d be so tempted to throw those files in some revision control, or at least Dropbox.

I’m really impressed with how clean it came out though, that setup looks pretty fantastic.

    I'm a newbie; it's "good enough"

Wire wheel on an angle grinder took the dross right off.

You'll notice the letters and paw prints and bones are way cleaner. That's because the large portions that got cut out had 3-4 extremely shallow cuts done to them, causing dross to build up.

    20230209_195810.jpg

My machine tool had default multiple times to 180ipm whereas this needed 92ipm to cut cleanly. Deleting the tool fixed the issue.
