I don’t see how clutch start cancel has any similarity to crawl control.

I won't let my wife borrow mine much less anyone else. Home Depot rents trucks by the hour.

If they only rented wives out by the hour...

Sorry, couldn't let that one go by

LOL yup! I conflated 2 separate discussions. The perils of posting to multiple forums on mobile while at the dog park.
I was responding to your other post and one in another forum at the same time. One about using clutch start cancel for hill control (ascending) not crawl control.
All while trying to keep my dog from humping everything that moved. Failed at that and apparently here as well. I better go check the other forum now.

I could be the oldest guy on here. Standard shift. I had just traded my 68 GTO on a 69 SS 396 Chevelle, L78. Driving around Cincinnati, a red headed girl just passed me in her 67 Barracuda convertible. I gave chase, followed her into a Frisches Drive Thru. Pulled up next to her, started a conversation. It was in December, and I said to her, I am burning too much gas, how about I sit in your Convert.
Trusting me, she said OK. A waitress brought her 2 cups of coffee and an egg sandwich, and she said she was taking it to her brother who was building a house a couple miles away. The second cup was in a cardboard tray.
She said I could tag along, she was going to drive. She had a Lucky Strike cigarette in her left hand, and holding the steering wheel, the coffee in her right hand, and ready to shift. I suggested that I hold the coffee.
She said, no, I have it, just watch me. Now this is three on the tree. She had and of course left foot on clutch, right foot on the gas. It had power steering.
She backed up, out of the parking lot, turned on Montgomery road, and down the road we went. It worked. We hooked up, married, and still at it. Have had more Chevys then can a count on fingers and toes. Throw some Vettes in there also. Yes, now we drive Toyotas. :)

Why? To be honest, 22 years of driving, 9 out of 10 of my cars have been manual. My MKV Supra was my first auto (only reason is that I got it in 2020 and MKV Supra in a manual wasn't available until the 2023 model). That said; I just can't give up on a manual just yet.

My dad has the 2022 Frontier Pro4x, I actually enjoyed driving it better than the Auto Tacoma (V6), but I enjoyed driving the Manual Taco over the Frontier.

That's a beautiful story. Shame you couldn't keep any of those Chevys on the road.

I didn't get one because my last car was a manual and my wife was sick of driving manuals around the city. Now she wants to get a smaller runaround city car and I'm like "so why did we have to get AT for the truck?!"

Even with a tune I find myself cursing at the AT shift points.

MTs don’t have the crawl ratio nor minimal wheel speed needed for more difficult off-roading. That said in no way is clutch start cancel the same as CC

Correct, check a couple posts down I addressed it. I was just going to leave it but may delete it to avoid confusion.

No money, all went to truck...
Not sure if this was covered. I have adult ADD and if you know, can make for a bad driver cause they never pay attention. Throw in kids, a truck with lots of tech, possibly a dog, a wife, and you have a pretty profound possibility of very little attention on the road.

Driving a manual keeps my focus on driving and is immensely helpful in helping with my attention span.

I really just enjoy/like it, I also enjoy being just a tad different I believe.
