    Yes, I have an insurance agent and he gets me the best deal he can. He’s tried them all together but it’s cheaper the way it is now :thumbsup:

    The clock I'm making?

    Here it is on CAM after drawing it on CAD -

    20230209_160434.jpg

    Broke the cutting down to 4 separate processes, just to baby sit it and remove whatever parts don't fall out on their own -

    20230209_165528.jpg

    Second go -

    20230209_165828.jpg

    Third go -

    20230209_170803.jpg

    And the last one to cut the whole thing out -

    20230209_170934.jpg

    Just got home from Home Depot since I wanted to add a Hammered Finish to this thing -

    20230210_150446.jpg

    Softening the edges before I blow off all the dust, drill the hole for the clock movement, primer and paint -

    20230210_150043.jpg

    Really, before that last step I need to cut out some mounting tabs as turning this thing from a sign to a mountable clock.

    I'll need to bend something up to keep it half an inch off the wall as well.

    And yes, those figures are my Welder Helpers. They hold my shit :laughing:

    Will be checking off items on the to do list for the ‘02. I spent the last couple weekend’s working on her, but spring time is right around the corner. Dropped the big brake kit off at the powder coater today! She’s going to feel like a new truck when I get the list done.

    Some times dull is underrated… I spent the better part of the last 12 years traveling around the country building zip lines and working at height. Always going somewhere else and rarely home. Don’t get me wrong it’s exciting to live out Johnny Cash’s song I’ve been everywhere for a while, but living out of a suitcase wears on a guy. I took a job as an estimator at the beginning of the year and I get to sleep in my own bed every night, it’s so nice. I’ve been home for three months straight for the first time in as many years. I like dull.

    So.....
    My wife was always State Farm. Her parents were, grandparents were...blah blah blah. When we got married I wanted to shop around but she wasn't having any of it. :mad:
    Fast forward a year or two; she was a retail manager at a store 30 miles away, on nights she had to close the store it would be midnight before she got home. Anyhow, one night she goes over an overpass and a big-horned steer (whatever they're called) was standing in the middle of I55 :eek:. She swerved but kinda clipped it a lil bit. At the time she had a bag phone (we're old) so she called the 5-0 and reported it. The hiway patrol feller came out, assessed the situation (the giant mammal was laying on the shoulder) and decided he needed to shoot it. So now the steer is dealing with a broken leg and a gunshot wound. :facepalm:
    The next day my wife calls the State Farm rep, tells her of the unfortunate situation and off to work she goes.
    My wife has not had a drop of alcohol in the 31 years we've been married. I say that to say this...
    I was home the next day, the insurance rep calls and asks if my wife had been drinking that night. Well, I knew that they were already trying to weasel out of a $2k claim so I said, "ya know, I'm really not sure...maybe you should call her at work and ask her":laugh:.
    They did.:laugh::laugh:
    10 minutes later she called me and said "CHANGE INSURANCE COMPANIES. NOW"
    I did. :laugh::laugh::laugh:

    There's much much more to this, I spent the day snooping around trying to locate the cow's owner, which I did, he said it was his, right up until I said my wife ran over it, then it magically wasnt his anymoreo_O...I called a lawyer friend, he sent the guy's insurance company a letter, we got paid damages plus a small lawyer fee...State Farm never paid a dime but they lost a lifetime customer. We'll never go back.

    :hattip:

    It appears I dont have much to do on a Friday night either.

    Thanks!

    Cut and welded some mounting tabs, drilled the center hole for the clock mount, and cleaned up the edges.

    I'll primer it tomorrow evening since I'll be out of town most of the day and I'm out of town now as we speak.

    Mock-up -
