Favorite Whiskey?

The York store sucks. They refuse to release anything allocated until the whole truck is unloaded. Line starts to form when they open at 9, but they won’t start releasing bottles until noon.

Lots of guys in line were hopeful for EHT, bummed when they finally told us what they got in and it wasn’t there.

 

Seeing the A123 ECBP pop up a lot lately. Hope it lands here soon. We already had the A123 Larceny BP come through.

 

Actually saw a bottle of Elmer T Lee at my local store. It was an allocated item requiring many more "points" than I had unfortunately.

 

Random poll - when someone says they "Scored" a bottle of something, do you interpret that as;

• they got a hard to get bottle at a great price

Or

• got a bottle that is hard to get at any price

 

Option C: Someone who has been into whiskey approximately 2 weeks purchasing a bottle of Buffalo Trace at 2x MSRP.

 

Situationally dependent…mostly based on size of the bank account and level of experience.

 

Depends on the bottle too. These days, anything hard to get found at MSRP is a score in my book.

trying to learn PA rules. Are these allocated? Or did you win a drawing? From a premium store or regular store? I can’t enter the drawings for bottles due to being a jersey resident but I have family in Lansdale I’m considering asking to enter for me since they are a stones throw from a premium store.

checked out one local and finally got me some wt101 that I’m excited to try. They had at least 3 bottles of the regular rare breed on the shelf that I’m likely going to grab at least one to try to compare to the rye I grabbed.

 

tell your family to be at the lansdale store at 9am Monday. They should get the entire buffalo Trace suite. If they are early enough you’ll get all of them

 

Allocated. Premium stores get the better stuff in. For example, your normal stores may get Buffalo Trace in, but they'd never get Eagle Rare, Blantons, EHT, etc.

 

I haven’t had this yet and I decided that 40 doll hairs to play was reasonable. I need to stop and kill four or five bottles before my next purchase. I have more unopened bottles than opened ones.

 

Im not sure what Sazerac did a few years back, but having had all of these multiple times I wouldn't pay over msrp for any of them.

Give me WT101 or RR10 or JDSBBP any day over them.

 

And that is only for pa residents or can anyone buy?

I love all of those too I agree with you though on paying over MSRP for MOST of the BT stuff. Would never go over MSRP. Unless it's a unicorn, and not stupidly marked up.

Lol, no judgment, I just don’t want to run out of room. 17 opened and 29 unopened. I’m not counting whatever is at my hunt camp. It’s tough to put a dent in them when you only have a pour or two a night. Cheers.

Anyone. If you go to the Lansdale store don't bother going to the shelf. They keep it behind the counter, have to go up and ask.
I did manage to grab a couple bottles at the East Norriton store today but had a taste for high proof EC store pick tonight. I don't feel so bad having a dozen bottles open after seeing some of tonight's comments.
