    Good luck Chuck.

My dentist was a member of my antique car club, so I didn’t make a fuss about his telling me my gold bridge didn’t have a quantity of gold worth saving. The USN Captain that put it in (1960) told me at the time that there was $600 worth of gold in it.

I went in for a regular maintenance due to the schedule I had a while ago with this insurance designated dental office (note: this was just done a few weeks prior by a different dental hygienic clinic). At the end of the x-ray and consultation with the dentist, their office manager advice me to have three crowns done, it's very convenient and fast since they have their crowns made on premises.

I swallowed one that had never even been installed. Slipped out of the dentist's fingers, my head was back, hit the back of my throat, swallow reflex, gone.

I couldn’t disagree more. I think the reason forums are popular is that we’re all interested in what others think …So, lay it on me.

Well, like I said, I find dentists to be one of the most questionably honest professions there is. I would have taken the gold and found out what it was worth. But you could always look at it as a donation to his next show car.

    I've always wondered about morticians...

Friend has a friend who is a mortician...and has a crematorium.
Ever wonder what happens to titanium artificial joints after a cremation? There's good money in scrap titanium...

Some might find this questionable conduct, but here goes...
A good friend, long time car enthusiast, elderly, having had joint implants, pins, screws, etc, moved on to that big garage in the sky. His wife of many years was and is also a car enthusiast, brought his cremated remains along to his Celebration of Life, held at a location in which we all had an annual get together. Encased in a wooden car parts crate, prybars were produced, the crate opened, the canister within gave up its contents to church keys, and various appropriate containers were available for drinking buddy club members to scoop memories from the larger container, to be relocated on the property. Pins and screws found respectful new homes in tree trunks, ashes were welcome in flower beds. Stories were shared, tears were shed, and smiles were had. We celebrated with a good friend who will always be in attendance for our future meetings.

I had that talk with my Hematologist this morning. Turns out I'm gonna be here a while longer if I don't get run over by a garbage truck. My blood does have a cancer, but I'm told that it is a very slow growing one, and that it shouldn't present symptoms any time soon. She told me that the symptoms that I have had for several years don't match up with the timeline of my cancer, they'll monitor it going forward, but no further action now. I thank you all for your words of encouragement, and I'm sorry, but your gonna have to put up with my shit a while longer.
