    Insurance:

A friend pulls in his driveway and gets fussing around in his truck like one does, foot still resting on the brake.

He needs something from the house and "will only be a minute" so he leaves the truck idling. As he commences to get out the truck commences to roll -- because he never put it in park...

In going for the brake he hits the accelerator instead - hard. The Dodge :facepalm:5.7 Hemi leaps ahead -- into his closed garage door - through the door, and then some.

He tells the adjuster "I feel so stupid", the adjuster says "this is common".

So common in fact that the adjusters son did it last week, except he made it entirely through the garage and into the back yard. :frusty:

Full disclosure: I hit my own car in my own driveway...
    Twice
    On two different occasions
Sober as a the proverbial Judge too...

yeah, turns out that was flawed. another source on the internet averaged all incomes to 1995 levels. they used that as the basis. i thought it seemed a little high, but didn't know enough to argue it after i found a number of links parroting the same thing...

I'm still not sure how she managed to do this but my wife backed into our garage door as it was opening and ripped the shark fin antenna off of the Highlander with enough force that the antenna landed 25 feet away. Nothing else was damaged or even scratched.

After figuring out that it was the antenna for satellite radio and we were never going to use that, I siliconed the bejebuz out of it so it wouldn't leak. We sold it a year later. Dealership never asked, I certainly wasn't going to tell.

Mrs Green was going to drive the Cherokee one day, to which I laughingly admonished her "don't break my car" before I left for work.

I come home to find the garage door all jacked up...

Seems she was going to put some "stuff" in the hatch, Mrs Green is 5'2" for reference, at some point she decided (using that odd process of "girl logic") that whatever she was doing would be easier out of the garage, as the hatch was already open she saw no reason to close it for a 20 foot trip.

    Remember her height above...
She only pushed the overhead door up for her to walk under -- the Cherokee hatch is over 6' when open. :annoyed:

Funny thing is it didn't put a scratch on the hatch, I had a good time putting the overhead door back together though.

interesting how the 'big game' poll is almost evenly split all 3 ways.

5 years ago, i feel like everyone watched. i don't get invited to many parties, but was invited to 3 different watching parties around that time every year.

    Hatch, part two:

She will raise the Subaru hatch so she can walk under it, I will go out to fetch the groceries -- I'm 5'11" for reference...

A dark night, a hatch to the forehead ...

Unrelated to hatches but on the subject of insurance -- she just reminded me about the life insurance payment -- always very helpful that way... :lalala:

We needed a whole new bottom panel.

Two car, double sided steel, insulated door. I never did ask what that set us back and she never offered.

You should see what a fork lift can do to an overhead door.

Of course nobody on the shipping dock knows what happened -- they are the only people out there - with a :censored: fork lift... :annoyed:

If someone dumped or punctured a tote that sounds awful.

It wasn't one of my better days. :anonymous:

    Here's another one......

It was a tote, they were stacked 3 high, when I was backing out I didnt have the top tote quite high enough, it caught on the tote thst was under it....splat!!:anonymous:

I bought pizza for the 4 other guys that helped me clean it up, it was on the far side of the warehouse (of course it was) and we squeegee'd (?) it all the way across the warehouse. It was 40° in there too, which, to be honest, really didnt help the situation.
It took 6 hours to clean up. :anonymous::anonymous::anonymous:

Morning all have to take my oldest to her. College testing :bananadead: it wouldn’t be bad but it’s a hour away and a 3 hr test. So I’m gonna sit in the parking lot and read. You all have a great day

I almost hit a cow one night standing in the road. It was black, luckily I saw it’s eyes. My uncle and a friend of mine went with me to a go kart race. My uncle had been drinking heavily. He talked for miles about how he don’t know how I saw it

    New poll.

My first truck was a 1978 Chevrolet. Never hit anything with it.

Remember the $10k loan I got and bought the 1992 Toyota pickup from my mom with?

Within a year I backed into my dads one ton in front of his shop and busted the left tail light, dented the tailgate. Few months later backed into a friends car sitting in his driveway with it. Few months after that I went on a fire call and took a wrong turn, went to back up and a buddy was following me. I creamed the fender on his Ford Ranger, which he was trading in the next day
